DEAD & DYING ANIMALS - including the following: (1) A Blue whale dead on the beach, (2) A Gray whale dead on the beach (See image above left), (3) California Sea Lions (a dead animal on the ocean bottom and a bloated dead animal on the surface. Several scenes of animals being choked by lines or plastic loops around their necks (See image above right) and (4) A Pacific Spotted Dolphin Bleeding to death after being either cut by a boat propeller or attacked by a Mako shark.
OVER-FISHING - Long sequence of a Soviet factory ship pulling up nets containing huge quantities of fish. Also a sequence of a Korean fishing boat laying a drift net.
UNDERSEA POLLUTION - Extensive footage on the effects of pollution in both temperate and tropical waters Much of this footage is included in two 27-minute educational films, "CLOUD OVER THE CORAL REEF" and "THE POISONED SEA". The films consider the results of different types of pollution on the marine environment by contrasting pristine and polluted areas.

MAN AND MARINE LIFE: INTERACTIONS - Scenes of swimmers and divers observing, photographing and interacting in various ways with marine animals - including whales, sea lions, sea otters, turtles, Pilot whales, etc.
WORKING DIVERS - including the following: (1) Divers collecting black coral in deep water. (2) Marine biologists collecting "Crown of Thorns" starfish underwater during an investigation of a starfish population explosion and (3) Marine biologists planting stakes in an underwater rocky bottom using compressed air tools.
TIME LAPSE - Extensive time lapse film footage of marine life obtained in both temperate and tropical waters. The apparent speed-up in the movements of small marine animals sometimes creates comical effects. Sea urchins, sea cucumbers, starfish, etc. appear to be racing across the ocean floor. One starfish appears to hit another. Crabs push starfish aside in the process of devouring a dead fish, etc.
GLACIERS AND ICEBERGS - Distant and close-up shots of Alaskan Glaciers. Great variety of large and small icebergs showing a vast assortment of shapes and colors
UNDERSEA LAVA FLOWS AND VOLCANIC ACTIVITY - First scenes ever filmed of undersea lava activity -- included in a 20-minute educational film, "FIRE UNDER THE SEA". See image above right of Lee Tepley filming molten lava. Included in the film are scenes of undersea avalanches, implosions, explosions, red-hot lava flowing underwater and a diver being struck by hot lava. The film demonstrates the origin of pillow lava. It also includes scenes of an erupting volcano and lava flows above water. Additional footage is available on volcanic activity and lava flows both above and under water.
UNDERSEA SAND FALLS - Rare footage of a stream of sand flowing underwater at a depth of about 90 feet.
UNDERWATER SPRINGS - Dramatic sequence of fresh water violently bubbling up through sand. Curious fish observe the bubbles. Also, small light rocks suspended above the rising spring water bounce up and down producing a popcorn-like effect. Scuba divers in some scenes.
