ALUA JACKS - Extensive video footage of these large carnivorous fish swimming close to the camera. Included are shots of a diver hand-feeding aluas and other tropical fish.
AMBERJACKS - Dramatic close-up film footage of a school of these large carnivorous fish. See image above left. Included are many curious scenes of a black jack and a white jack swimming together.
CLOWN FISH - Extensive close-up and colorful footage of these timid fish swimming in and out of (and sometimes hiding in) the large anemones with which they share a symbiotic relationship.
GAR - Rare footage of this strange looking long-nosed fresh water fish.
GARIBALDIS - Extensive footage of this very colorful ocean-going goldfish swimming through kelp and along rock walls. Included is a comical sequence of garibaldis interacting with an underwater photographer who is wearing gloves which are the same color as the fish.
GREAT BARRACUDA - Intermediate distance and close-up shots on video.
GOATFISH - Extensive video footage of large schools which often hang almost motionless in the water - sometimes so closely packed that they seem to be simulating a single large fish - perhaps for protection against predators.
JACKS (Other types) - Large schools (type unknown to writer) swimming with Pacific Black-tip reef sharks. Also scenes of Jack Cravelles, etc.
LION FISH (Also called TURKEY FISH) - Close up shots of these poisonous fish swimming, ressting on the bottom and hiding in crevices.
ONO - A fierce looking Hawaiian game fish. See image above left.
PACIFIC BARRACUDA (or NEEDLE FISH) - Intermediate and close-up shots on film and video of schools of these fish swimming rapidly and turning in unison.
REMORA (Sucker fish) - As seen swimming under or clasped to humpback whales,black-tip reef sharks, bottlenose dolphins and turtles.
SALMON - Extensive video footage (with close-ups both above and underwater) of the brilliantly colored Sockeye salmon swimming in open water and fighting it's way upstream to the spawning grounds. Also available are scenes of pre- and post-spawning activity of King (Chinook), Chum (Dog) and Pink (Humpy) Salmon.
SCHOOLING FISH - Extensive footage of many different types of schooling fish - both large and small. Included are dramatic scenes showing dense clouds of small fish (either herring or mullet) which occasionally open to reveal a rocky ocean floor. Sometimes sea lions swim through the clouds of small fish. Recent material shows sharks swimming through large schools of many types of schooling fish - including schools of large jacks.
STONEFISH - Colorful footage of this deadly spiny fish obtained with underwater lights. Included are scenes of the fish partly camouflaged on a rocky bottom. Also shots of a stonefish resting on the bottom and swimming slowly.
TARPONS - Dramatic close-up video footage obtained at night with underwater lights. See image above right. The lights dramatize the silvery color of these large game fish as they approach the camera and snap at small fish which were attracted by the lights.
