On this page we list what to avoid and what to ask when shopping for a water filter system:
|
 |
What to Avoid:
- Companies that want to come to your home to do a 3-hour presentation
- Anyone that tests your water on-site and tells you that your water contains Bacteria. Bacteria tests take at least 24
hrs incubation time
- Someone that shows up to test your water in a suit, chances are they are paid on commission
- Deals or specials that are only available for the next "30 minutes" or "Today Only", if they can't offer it everyday something
is wrong
- Miracle Filters or Free Soap for Life
- Companies that make claims about how your water is so bad for your health, just as with a doctor always get a second
opinion, I have seen this with some of the most reputable companies
- Pushy salespeople
What to Ask:
- How much will this system cost me to operate monthly?
- Where can I find the supplies I'll need to operate this system?
- How much is a service call and at what frequency should this system be serviced?
- Anyone in GA can sell filtration equipment, always check with www.wqa.org to see if they are actually certified.
- Always check with the Secretary of States office and verify how long a company has actually been incorporated,
anyone can claim 20, 30, and even 40+ years in business, but are only actually incorporated for a few years.
- Always ask for references
