Well we finally got a chance to get away for a few days at the end of 2004.  After Nan's usual Christmas Season Retail Nightmare and several shows for me, we decided to back down to San Diego for the New Years holiday.   We left LA on Tuesday December 28th and drove to the Lowe's Coronado Bay Resort.

On Wednesday we did the San Diego Wild Animal Park's Photo Caravan tour.   They take you out into the exhibits in the back of a truck and you get up close and personal with the animals.   The 2 hour trip (we took) goes to 2 of their 4 exhibits.  It was cold and rainy but we still had a great time.   I learned some really valuable information, such as; A giraffe has 1" of tonge for every 12" of his height.  (I'm sure that information will come in handy sometime)

On Thursday we did the San Diego Zoo.   To my mind that is the best zoo I have ever seen.  We both love the Lorakeet aviary where for only $2.00 a shot, you can feed the Lorakeet's with sugar water.   I just love the smile on Nan's face when we are in there.

Friday (New Years' Eve) we had dinner at the Azzura Point.   Lovely ambience, good service.
