Do Dogs See Stars?

I know that dogs' brains chew on those things concerning
food and the politics of affection,
but do they see stars?
Do they gaze with amazement at the last bright candle of night,
alone in a purple sky at dawn?
Do they call it by name, mark its movement,
devise stories
of heroism heartbreak drama?
Do they see stars, or is it unique to the human condition
that we are set to musing by a distant light
which draws us ever outward.
