The Provincetown Swim for Life has a minimum 
                           donation for all participants. 
                           
                           
                           We are going for our 6th Swim for Life. 
                           Let's just say it won't be pretty, 
                           but it is a great excuse for a lobster dinner, 
                           and it is a truly remarkable event.

                           Imagine....

                           Some stranger with a boat hauls you out to Long Point.
                           You are dumped on the beach by the lighthouse.
                           The organizers say a few meaningful words.
                           Someone pounds a drum.
                           Everyone runs screaming into the water and
                           swims across the bay towards a bar with a blue tarp on it
                           to distinguish that bar from all the other bars....
                           My first thought is 
                           "Oh God, The water is soooooo COLD.......!"
                           My second thought is 
                           "Where did that blue tarp go....
                           It should be to the left of the monument....."
                           A flotilla of volunteers in kayaks 
                           and party boats and sailboats fill the bay.
                           Brightly colored swim caps bob 
                           toward the Boat Slip.
                           And - as this is Provincetown, 
                           every swimmer is personally greeted at the finish 
                           by a contingent of very fierce drag queens.
