Games
I know what you may be thinking: what do games have to
do with writing? Well, they have plenty to do with writing! Wait,
no, not plenty. More like absolutely nothing. Still, sometimes
it's nice to kick back, relax, take some time off from the every day grind,
and play a nice game. In my spare time, there's nothing I like better
than a good video game or computer game, and I happened to conveniently stumble
upon a few sites that had free games that could be used on my website. So,
below you can find some fun games to pass the time.
Note: This isn't very important I suppose, but these games will have a small
ad at the top of the page. I am working on finding a way to make these
available without the distraction of the ads, but this will have to do for
now. The hosting company puts the ads in, and I have no control and
make no money off them. Just wanted to make that clear.
*Instructions can be found once the games are loaded.
Macromedia Shockwave is required to play.
Alien Abduction
A unigue game, where you control a flying saucer and abduct people and cars
from a neighborhood.
Asteroids
The classic arcade game.
Balloon
Pop
Very similar to Hangman, but balloons pop on wrong guesses, rather than a
hangman being drawn.
Crash Down
Click to remove groups of same colored blocks, while new rows are added.
Flash Man
A little circular man eating pellets, while being chased by ghosts. Sound
familiar?
Fowl Words
Note the spelling of "fowl". There are a row of chickens each with
a letter in front of them, and
you must type up as many words as you can from the seven letters provided.
Ice Breakout
Send penguins flying through the air to break the blocks of ice above.
It's not as violent as it sounds.
Letter Rip
A game that sort of reminds me of Boggle...there is a board of letters,
and you must find words using the letters that are next to each other.
PengaPop
Control a penguin in a plane and shoot colorful marbles at treats to collect
them.
You also shoot the marbles at matching colors on the marbles wall to
reach more treats.
That was a terrible explanation, I know. Just read the instructions,
you'll be better off.
Pic-N-Pair
You will see a group of 12 names, and you must find the pair. IE: Romeo
would match with Juliet.
Sheepish
Move a sheep across the road and river safely. Might put you in mind
of a similar game starring an amphibian.
Solitaire
A card game I'm a bit too familiar with.
Simon
Do what Simon says...follow the pattern of the flashing lights.
Space Invaders
Again a classic arcade game.
Tetris
Complete rows of blocks to clear them from the board.
Thesaurus Tangle
You will be given a scrambled word, and a synonym to help you figure out
the answer.
Topic Tangle
You are give a topic and a scrambled word that fits into the topic.
