Let me introduce myself. I am a Clinical Assistant Professor in the
South Carolina College of Pharmacy on the University of South Carolina - Columbia campus. I teach pharmaceutics, pharmacokinetics, and compounding to professional pharmacy students in
their first three years in our program. I also teach an elective on drug interactions and in the graduate pharmaceutics
program. My research efforts focus on pharmacokinetics of novel compounds, drug interactions and drug metabolism, physical
compatibility of admixtures and educational research. In addition to my teaching and research responsibilities,
I serve on several committees within the College of Pharmacy. My favorite area of university service, however, is with
my students - mentoring, supervising research projects, advising, etc. I am faculty advisor to USC's chapter of Christian Pharmacists Fellowship International (CPFI).
My husband, Avery, and I have been married for ten blessed years and
have no children - but do have one dog. We moved to Columbia from Phoenix, Arizona eight years ago to be closer
to our families in NC. Avery also works at USC - in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
Avery and I are active members of River Springs Church where I coordinate the outreach ministry and Avery leads our disaster relief team. I also lead a women's encouragement / Bible study group in the community - the women in that group have become
my very best friends and our meetings are a highlight of my week.
I love to learn new things, so the hobby section of My Favorites page changes yearly. Since
finishing my formal education, I have learned over 15 new skills, ranging from birdsong identification to rock climbing to
shagging to furniture refinishing. I guess you could say that I'm an advocate of continuing education!
