"The survivors of the old Pulaski Volunteers, known as Company G, Eighth Georgia Regiment, will hold a meeting in Hawkinsville on Thursday, the 19th inst. (January) to offer some suitable tribute to the memory of Captain W. W. Williamson, who died in Milledgeville on the 3rd inst.

Captain William Washington Williamson, born in Millidgeville in 1838, graduated at the Lumpkin Law School and opened a law office in Hawkinsville in 1860. He joined the military (Confederate States of America) as a private in the 8th Georgia Regiment. In 1872 he married Miss Cifford Kenan."
