Wounded at Gettysburg, Pa. July 3, 1863. Wounded in arm, necessitating amputation, at Cold Harbor, Va. June 1, 1864. Retired, on account of wounds, October 15, 1864. Elected Major of Shellman's Local Battalion, Savannah, Ga. in 1864. Surrendered, Tallahassee, Fla. May 10, 1865. Paroled, Thomasville, Ga. May 11, 1865.

William F. Shellman was born Nov. 23, 1840, and died Feb. 7, 1897.
