Shellman, William Feay - 4th Sergeant May 21, 1861. Wounded at 1st Manassas, Va. July 21, 1861. Elected 2d Lieutenant December 17, 1861; 1st Lieutenant and Adjutant April 30, 1862. Wounded at Gettysburg, Pa. July 3, 1863. Wounded in arm, necessitating amputation, at Cold Harbor, Va. June 1, 1864. Retired, on account of wounds, October 15, 1864. Elected Major of Shellman's Local Battalion, Savannah, Ga. in 1864. Surrendered, Tallahassee, Fla. May 10, 1865. Paroled, Thomasville, Ga. May 11, 1865.

William F. Shellman was born Nov. 23, 1840, and died Feb. 7, 1897.
