"Col. E. C. Mobley" "Col. E. C. Mobley - We were glad to meet last Saturday our old friend and former townsman, Col. E. C. Mobley, now of Coleman, Texas. At the breaking out of the war, Col. Mobley was practicing law in Greenville. He left for Virginia with the Echols Guards [Company D, 8th Georgia Volunteer Infantry] May the 18th, 1861. During the war he was captured and spent a long time in northern prisons. After the war he retired to Fairborn and practiced law there until 1877 when he moved to Texas. He is now teaching school and practicing law at Coleman, in western Texas. He is back in Georgia visiting old friends and his two sons, one of whom is living at Hogansville, the other is principal of the boy's high school in Atlanta."
