Biographical Notes:

James H. H. Brown was born March 15, 1841 in Oglethorpe County, Georgia. He was wounded at the Seven Days Battles in 1862, and again at Petersburg near the end of the War. An article appeared in the July 11, 1999 issue of the Arizona Daily Star, pg. 1E, entitled "Born of a Rebel," by Bonnie Henry, which features James F. Brown, son of James H. H. Brown, then age 87. The article tells about the elder Brown, and stories he related to his son about his experiences as a Confederate soldier. The article includes a photo of James H. H. Brown in his Confederate uniform, holding his percussion musket.)
