John W. Bohannon

John W. Bohannon was probably the brother of James F. (corporal), Joseph D. (private), and Henry D. Bohannon (private), all members of Company G, the Pulaski Volunteers. Confederate service record summary of John W. Bohannon: "Private July 7, 1861. Appointed Corporal. Elected Lieutenant in 1863. Wounded in left leg, necessitating amputation below knee, and captured at Deep Bottom, Va. August 14, 1864. Released at Point Lookout, Md. June 26, 1865." Both John W. and James F. Bohannon were held at Point Lookout POW Camp, Maryland, along with five other members of Company G. John W. Bohannon's daughter, Annie May Bohannon, married Samuel Gary Page of Beech Island, Georgia.
