Thoughts on the Wind

Thoughts on the Wind

Inside this book we have captured snapshots of our worlds, both the real and the imaginary. The writings blend humor, a bit of serious reflection, and some pure whimsical fantasy. We hope you find them entertaining, encouraging, and maybe even thought provoking.

Murky Manor

When Meredith visits Murky Manor she encounters more mystery than just the fog surrounding the house. She finds an old cup that has strange powers. Before she can find out any more, she and her aunt move into town. She meets Tony and together they encounter an indoor rainforest, a gazebo with cinnamon flowers, and creatures that appear to be made of mist. But there are others who are interested in the cup. A repairman who believes the cup is from Atlantis, and a strange girl who claims it’s from another world.

Cave of Discovery

Jason squeezed the old silver coin in his hand and wondered if there really could be a hidden treasure. After all, this was Treasure Town. If only he could find enough money so his family wouldn’t have to move. Time was running out. His parents were already trying out new jobs in a new city, while he was spending the summer with his cousin Daniel.

Then they found an old treasure map and a riddle that pointed to Haunted Cave. But there was more in the cave than just bats. Strange visitors from the past (one who was dangerous!) roamed the dark passageways.

Worlds Within

Things don’t go well for Toby after he moves in with his grandmother and starts school in a new town. After an encounter in the school cafeteria, he finds himself waiting in the Principal’s office. While there he discovers a book that lets him travel back and forth to another world where he meets an eccentric hermit and makes new friends. Toby soon finds that his new friends are also having problems and he has to decide how to help them.

At home, Toby is still adjusting to his wacky grandmother. She drives a customized VW, collects cat figurines, and sends him to Alice’s Food Emporium to pick up exotic foods.

Then Toby discovers he’s not the only one who knows about the book. He is chased by bullies, has more meetings with the Principal, and is being watched by a mysterious librarian. Can Toby help his new friends and keep the book from falling into the wrong hands?

The World Beyond The Door

Telah should have outgrown the stories her grandfather made up about his adventures in another world. After all, she had just turned twelve and was old enough to know better. Her own world is filled with pixie parties in her garden, garments woven out of light, and attending her first Harvest Gala. But Telah is fascinated by the possibility of finding a secret door. Suspecting that her older sister and their neighbor Morley know where the door is located, she convinces her friend Travis to help her look for it. They are followed through the door by pixies in search of their own adventure. Danger, chaos, and laughter follow as Telah, the pixies, and Morley all try to find their way back home – only to discover that the door has been shut!
