This is arguably the World's best Jeanneau 50 - Mischief is ready for live aboard or extended cruising with all amenities. Quite simply, there are very few 50 footers like her.

Mischief is an exceptional performance sailing yacht - incorporating all the design and performance attributes club racers, blue water, or Intracoastal cruisers require.

Combining her sleek Bruce Farr-designed hull with Jeanneau's classic, European styling, Mischief is beautiful, comfortable, and fast! She is extremely quick and maneuverable for a cruiser of her size and can easily be handled by two under full sail, power, or while docking.

See exploded view of Mischief LayoutHer wide beam coupled with her heavy displacement bulb keel (suitable for both racing and cruising) creates a unique stability easily managed at her twin helm stations. In addition, she has an unbelievably spacious and elegant interior, including large salon, full-appliance galley, comprehensive sit-down nav station, laundry room, and private sleeping quarters for six.

In 2000, Mischief was reoutfitted to 'better than new' with every amenity a serious cruiser could want (see Complete List). This included an enlarged owner's stateroom, new designer upholstery and fittings, two built in TV/Video centers, and an extensive complement of fully integrated navigation equipment and communication electronics. For power, there is a new 8 kW generator with expanded 1,100 Amp battery system linked to a Trace 2500 Inverter. Other important additions include a 16,000 and 12,000 BTU central air/heat system (master stateroom and salon - independent), large capacity watermaker, built-in washer/dryer, ice maker, and a beautiful flag blue Awlgrip hull with Awlgrip cream topsides.

Mischief's large owner's stateroom forward incorporates a custom centerline queen berth with new mattress, two large hanging lockers, four gracious under-berth drawers, large clothes locker, built-in television with VCR, and full head with separate shower. Her two aft staterooms both have queen berths, hanging lockers and ample clothes storage.

The large galley incorporates a full-size 4-burner stove/oven with broiler and electric starter, a built-in Sharp microwave, oversized separate refrigerator and freezer, and abundant storage. The salon has seating for eight, a built-in television with VCR, a bar, and icemaker. The laundry room has a built-in Splendide washer/dryer combination and sink. Both heads are electric with built-in macerators.

On deck, there are ample sunning areas, a large cockpit with twin helms, a large walk-thru transom with transom shower, two large cockpit lockers and one huge standing locker forward.

Quite simply, Mischief is arguably the best Jeanneau 50 in the World and a truly amazing yacht. Please click below for a full list of Mischief's appointments (printable version within):

Owner Comments

What can we say about this boat that won't sound totally biased, much like parents bragging about their first-born child. Needless to say, we will be so sad to see her go; but we are in the market for a new house and our time living aboard and cruising Mischief in the Caribbean has come to an end.

She is a superb yacht. Her accommodations and appointments speak for themselves; yet we just wanted to add some comments about what a special boat this is to sail and live aboard. We never felt cramped aboard Mischief. She is literally the roomiest yacht either of us has ever cruised or boarded. Indeed, she is just about the best appointed yacht we have seen and definitely the best either of us have sailed!

How can we adequately describe the feeling of sailing this boat on a screaming reach with 25 knts of air driving her forward, flat and stable as can be... Man... Suddenly, you glance down at your speed... Can that be right? You realize you are cruising along at 10-12knts! What a blast, especially as you watch the other boats disappear astern.

Many times on boats, it's the little things that are important, the kinds of things you only notice after living aboard a vessel. Take the steps down the companionway. So many boats leave you feeling shortchanged here; you don't realize this until you go up and down those steps hundreds of times. Mischief's simple design allows you to go forward or backward with equal speed and ease. Small matter? They add up. I can honestly say I find almost no fault with Mischief.

This boat is just a pleasure; and more than that, it has a great karma if you believe in that sort of thing. Everyone that came aboard had a great time and was more often than not completely surprised concerning the comfort of the accommodations. It's a boat that is as much a pleasure to sail as WELL as a pleasure to live aboard.

We will miss her greatly; we both just hope her new owners enjoy her as much as we do.
