FAMILY

Early beginnings....my grandfather Dave, second from right. Grace, fourth from right, recently turned 100 years old.

UPDATE: Grace moved on at the age of 100.

These are my maternal grandparents; Sara and Dave. They owned grocery stores in Brooklyn, NY from the 1930's through the 1940's. Specualtion is that Dave had to deal with some interesting folks in the grocery business. If you wanted bread and pastries dropped off or fresh cheese to sell, you pretty much had to make weekly "tribute" payments. That of course did not include the protection payments to keep the store "safe." Welcome to Brooklyn in the 30's and 40's.

Although Sara and Dave have moved on, they are forever a part of me and my family.
