Life of a Bookslut

Okay, point blank piece of information about me that anyone who knows me even slightly is aware of. I am, without a doubt, a bookslut.

Most of the times in my life when it's been low or hard to deal with or boring, where do you find me, but curled up in the corner with a book. It seems that I'm either trying to write them, or reading them, or some combination of the two. The last option, of course, is where fanfic comes into play, but that's a different subject altogether, more suited for another time or another place than this.

There are those books that I keep coming back to, the ones that almost fit like an old, well-worn glove. Sometimes these are the books that help me get to sleep at night when the insomnia's hitting hard and heavy.

I do have particular tastes. I tend more toward science fiction and fantasy when we're talking about my fiction reads, although there are several books on my list that don't fall into those categories. When it comes to the non-fiction I like to read, I always have had a soft spot for biographies. Biographies, and almost anything having to do with science, especially physics, and even more especially the subset of physics that includes superstring theory (or as it's now known, M-theory) and quantum mechanics, which all go together. I also devour political books (on the liberal end of the scale) by the megatonne.

For a sampling of things that catch my eye and make me want to read them or my recommendations, check the links below, and have fun.

Heh. This is probably why most people, when I ask them to sort me, tend to drop me in Ravenclaw. Such a geek, me.
