Don explained
this trick as carving the pool with so much g-force that he did
a frontside grind to air, and landed in a crouched position, traveling
around 25 miles per hour, on a Micke
Alba deck. It was
during a contest in which he placed in the top 10. He was later
demoted to 11 place, but for two minutes he was in the top ten
and was headed to the finals! .
DxHx said he
was the first skater to pull and land this trick at the Marina's
Upper Keyhole pool in 1979, other skaters ( we
believe it was Dave Hackett, the other DH, beside's DH Peligro
of the Dead Kennedys) Dave had pulled it here as well, and at
several other parks.

in the blue shirt, standing up in the bleachers, cheering for
DxHx to land it, right in the heart of DOGTOWN!
