Sentinel, Too Fix
Blair watched Alex walk away with no sense of the thrill that he'd had at meeting his Sentinel, Jim. There was something wrong with Alex Barnes.
Back at the loft, Jim was attempting to make dinner one handed. Blair was due home soon. He knew that he'd been a bear to live with since getting out of the hospital. The growling sound that had distracted him at the convenience store started again. It seemed to be coming from the hallway. Jim pulled his gun from a drawer, walked to the loft door, yanked it open, gun pointed...at Blair's startled face.
"Oh, hey... Jim. I live here, too, remember?"
"Sorry, Chief. I guess I'm just a little jumpy."
Blair led the nervous Sentinel inside.
"I'd say so and I think I know why. How's the arm?"
"Doc says I can go back to work on Monday."
"Mmm, good. Good. I'm sure everybody will be really glad when that happens. Now I think I have an explanation for the jaguar and the jumpiness. And perhaps for the greeting. I was down at the station doing some work, and I met this woman-- "
"Look, Chief, why don't you spare me the details?" Jim turned away from his Guide. He didn't want to hear about another of Blair's girls.
Blair approached Jim and touched him, forcing Jim to look at him.
"I'm not dating her, Jim. She was in an accident and was being interviewed . I think she's the cause of your spotted jaguar sightings,
Jim. She may be another Sentinel and she's in your territory. I was with her earlier. I may even have picked up her scent. That may be why you are so jumpy around me now."
Jim stared at his guide. Then he focused on Blair's scent. He was right. There was a trace of a feminine scent on his guide –
"Jim!" Blair found himself pulled against the taller man
"You are mine!" Jim claimed Blair's mouth and the world faded in haze of sensual bliss.
Yours, Blair agreed, as he gave himself to his Sentinel without reservation.
