33 Mysteries Weblog

For me, the double digits - and sometimes triple digits - of "33" and "333" appear in my daily life, again and again, as a sort of symbol, rather than as a mathematical sum or, for that matter, with any actual numerical meaning.

I understand that many folks like to add things or make other calculations to discover where 33 might then show up. That is certainly a valuable pursuit. However, for my own interests and for the purposes of this site, I would prefer to focus on the symbolic aspect of the digits.

In reply to one who recently wrote with an inquiry about posting words and phrases that add up to 33, I wrote:

"For me, '33' appears as a double-digit 'icon' in its own right, where it appears to folks in their daily lives as such. On the other hand, if one has to make calculations based on this or that system to arrive at 33, that - at least in my view - is outside the scope of the interest of my site.

"If you would like to post that information on the web, I would be happy to provide a link to it."

I would be happy to post links to sites containing such information, so do let me know of any such sites!
