Kirtan Sangha - Musicians Wanted
TABLA PLAYER. Should be comfortable with keharva, dadra, and bhajani thekas. (Mridang or pakhawaj may also be welcome, instead of tabla.) Weekly sessions preferred, additional gigs possible.
PERCUSSIONISTS to play manjira, kartals (finger cymbals), ghungri (ankle bells). Comfortable with or willing to learn various patterns.
BANSURI (wood flute) PLAYER.
Best trained in/familar with raga. MISCELLANEOUS INSTRUMENTALIST
to play various Indian folk instruments, including the ektar ("gopichand"), swarmandal (zither), flutes, lutes, percussion...any or all of the above! We can provide many of these instruments for you!
Please Note: While we welcome new musicians, we prefer to include traditional Indian instruments. If you play another type of drum or instrument and want to participate, please contact us in advance so that we can arrange a time to integrate your instrument with our sangha.
