The diagrams below show several forms for Major sixth chords. (Such chords are usually just called sixth or 6th chords.) Use notes 1 - 3 - 5 - 6 in a particular key to create the chords. Several forms can be moved along the neck. The D6 form, when moved one fret to the right, becomes the Eb6 form, which can be moved along the neck. The E6 form, minus the open first and sixth (E) strings, can also be moved along the neck. The Ab6 form is also movable, as is the Db6 form. With all these forms, you should be able to create any Major sixth chord.
