CRIME:
Charged in connection with atrocities in the Foca area of Bosnia, in particular the gang rape and systematic sexual assault and imprisonment of Bosnian women. Specifically, crimes against humanity, grave breaches of the Geneva Conventions and violations of the laws or customs of war.

STATUS:
Arrested February 13, 1994 by German police in Munich.
Found guilty by virtue of his individual criminal responsibility on 6 counts of grave breaches of the Geneva Conventions of 1949, one count of a violation of the laws or customs of war and one count of a crime against humanity.
Sentenced to 25 years in prison, November 11, 1999.
Sentenced reduced to 20 years in prison on January 26, 2000.
CRIME:
Presiding tribunal judge said Tadic had carried out the crimes "intentionally, and with sadistic brutality, using knives, whips, iron bars, the butt of a pistol, sticks and by ... tightening a noose around the neck of one of them until he lost consciousness."

Alleged to have ordered, implemented, supported and assisted a plan designed to expel the Bosnian Muslim, Bosnian Croat and other non-Serb populations from the municipalities designated as part of the Autonomous Region of Krajina, Croatia (ARK), including the Prijedor municipality of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Suspected of participation in the mass murder, torture and other cruel treatment of the Bosnian Muslim population, including women, children and the elderly in and around Visegrad between May 1992 and October 1994.
Formally charged with acts of extermination, persecution and murder.

Participated in the planning of, and preparation for, the unlawful deportation and forcible transfer of hundreds of Bosnian Croat and Muslim residents from their homes in the Bosanski Samac municipality to other countries or to other parts of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina not controlled by Serb forces.
Charged with one count each of a Grave Breach of the Geneva Convention and a crime against humanity.
