The cabins are located on The Rocky Broad River by Chimney Rock, NC, right in the middle of apple country. The river is stocked weekly with trout within about 100 yards from the cabins, and we see lots of folks catching their limit. Be sure to have a fishing license. Tubing, kayaking and just playing in the river have delighted many of our guests, and you can go horseback riding in the area, as well as rent canoes in the river below the Lake Lure dam. At Chimney Rock Park they now also have rock climbing, and it's suitable for beginners. There are several rivers for white water rafting within a couple hours drive. The French Broad River is only 30 minutes away, and has both all day and 1/2 day rafting trips. We're located within convenient driving distance of attractions such as The Biltmore House in Asheville and Chimney Rock Park. Access to the Blue Ridge Parkway just a few miles away on the way to Asheville. A good destination is Linville Falls going north on the parkway. The Dupont State Park, on the other side of Hendersonville, is a great day trip for hiking to several nice waterfalls. Several nice and reasonably priced golf courses are within 30 minutes drive. Black Mountain is 15 miles north on Hwy 9. It has some very nice shops, artists and restaurants.
On our last visit we had dinner at El Sereno in Lake Lure. I had the Seafood Fajita and Sheila had the Super Sampler and both were outstanding. Great value. We've also enjoyed lunch at LaStrada also in Lake Lure. Good food and it has a nice view of the lake. There's a lot of other good restaurants in the area, these are just 2 we've tried recently.

I just wanted to let you know how very much we enjoyed our time at your Cabin. Dante and I consider this one of our all time favorite vacations. This week away afforded us an opportunity to just BE. For me personally, I have never come back to the work so rested and renewed... The simple accommodations and the opportunity to disconnect from most of the world was not only exciting but additive. The Tomasini's Columbia SC July 2006
Once again we've had a wonderful
time up here and hate to leave. We'll see you next July
The Gibsons, Reidsville NC July 2006
I just wanted to take this time to say "Thank You" for allowing me to spend
some much-needed time away from it all. I truly enjoyed the time that I spent at
your cabin and I do look forwarded to going back again someday soon.
I also want to express my gratitude to Jill who was always
willing to help and made my stay even more enjoyable. May God continue to
bless you and your loved ones with lots of love, health, and happiness.
Respectfully,
Jesse

Just wanted to let you know that my father and
I had the best time ever in NC at you cabin. The river supplied us with fresh
fish two nights and it was completely relaxing. We needed that break and
solitude. Your manager Jill, was more than accomodating to us during our stay
and was so courteous also. We would like to come back again next year to your
cabin. Thanks
J. Gleaton, Lexington SC May 2007
Wanted to say thank you, thank you, thank you! We just had our best
family vacation staying at the Berry Patch for a week! The cabin was
centrally located to everything, but I felt like we were far, far away
from the world with the rushing river and beautiful setting! The
cabin was cozy, clean, and had everything we needed in the kitchen too...
My girls made us promise we would go back again next year.

I wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed staying at the Berry Patch. Jill did a great job making everything nice for us, and we had a great time! We even got to meet a lot of your family while we were there, so that was great, too! Thanks for providing such a wonderful vacation place! Marty Davis, July 2007
I wanted to
let you know that we had a wonderful time last week at the
cabins in Bat Cave. The weather was great and the fishing was
even better. Between me, my father, and my brother, we caught
more than 150 trout just down from the cabins. Jill was very
helpful during the week and the cabin was great. She made sure
we had everything we needed. Thanks to the both of you for a
wonderful vacation.
