We keep things simple and straight forward!
Koei-Kan is a traditional Japanese martial art practice. All students wear a white karate uniform free of embloms or markings other than our school patch. They participate in recommended exams for belt advancement and wear their own protective gear during contact training. 
 
We are non-competition based and do not have required tournaments and exhibitions to attend.

Tuition Agreements and Cost

Programs are ongoing month to month. payable prior to 1st of each month. Payment date arrangments can be made. 

In the event you wish to discontine membership. Will you please contact the school by email or letter of your intent 10 days prior to the 1st. Notifications received after the first will be responsible for that months membership.

Students recieve a 20% discount off total monthly rate when two or more family members are enrolled.

Rank Examination Fees

Cost is dependent on specific rank advancement level.
 
Belt levels of white and 1-3rd degree green belts are $75.00. Brown belts 1-3rd degree, $100.00, Black Belt 1st level $200.00.

Required Equipment, Gear and Study Materials

Any equipment, gear and training material needs can be met through the schools Karate Gear Store. Items have been tested and found appropriate for what we do. The prices are competative and purchases directly benefit the Washington Dojo. Any gear used must be approved by the Chief Instructor to ensure safety and liability compliance. 
 
To start all that is need is a white karate uniform, which you will may purchase upon registration.
 
Gloves will be needed within a few months for contact drills and light partner work.
 
Equipment required for contact sparring is: headgear, mouthguard, gloves, chest protector, groin cup for men, and shin guards. When this is needed varies greatly among practictioners from 3 months to two years.
 
Student Textbook is Koei-Kan Karate-Do, Pratice and Precepts  written by National Technical Director, Brian Frost.
