Mailbag

Here's a chance for you to contribute.  If you want to wish us well or are just wondering why two old guys like us would even try something this crazy, just let us know.  We'll share the stuff with our other readers.

What's great about the web is the opportunity to share our thoughts with others. But we also like to hear what others think and to exchange ideas.

On this page, we'll share some of the comments we get in the old mailbag.

We love the old-fashioned 'snail mail.'  You want a stupid postcard from us?  Include your mailing address in the message and you just might get one.

This website - crude? Schmude!!
This is a most informative site wherein we can monitor the progeress of the wayfaring voyagers, all the while wishing we could partake. HAPPY TRAILS!!!!

comment: Hope you got to Denver without incident, ya hosers! And hope you remembered that you can't take "liquids" on the plane--that includes beer. Looking forward to your dispatches from the trail!

Just wanted to remind you, in case you did not read the map carefully, there is no guarantee of your safety or well being on the route you have chosen....and I do want a stupid post card, so you better send one to me.  Happy Trails!!

Hi Dave and Mark,

Hey you Hoosiers! What a wonderful thing you two will complete (hopefully in one piece), watch for bears!
I called and left a good luck message Dave but, I think you already hit the road. I think your website is a great and fun idea. I'll check in on it when I get the time.

I just want to say have a great and safe trip, how exciting! May all go well and may your trail days be painless (somewhat)....... Lets have some beers on your return.

So you're at it again!  Best of luck and a string of good weather to
you both on this latest midlife-crisis adventure of yours. I suppose it's cheaper than buying a Porsche or carrying on with a woman half your age. Healthier too.

I'll share your adventures with my 10-year-old son and 7-year-old daughter.  "See kids? When you grow up you can act like a kid all over again ... and all your friends will be green with envy."

Wow--hope it's stopped snowing! Hey, I know you want to get some good tales out of all of this, but stay safe and healthy in the process. Unless, that is, you want to get another trip out of it next summer! Come to think of it, perhaps I'd trade you. At least you're missing "civilization" as we know it, and you're damn lucky!

Your blog just ends on the 13th and then no more entries.....like the diary of some failed and tragic Mt Everest expedition.  Did you make it?  Are you guys OK?   When are you back in town?  Lets have some beers then and sharesome stories?

Dudes!
Wow you two have been putting the miles on!  I can already tell you're gonna drop my sorry butt on our next ride.  Oh well, I better go find my protein shake and head of to Pilates Class.

Please post and update on Mark's shoulder.

Friday is Party on the Roof and you're gonna be missed.  Be safe and finish with panache:

noun
1) Dash; verve.
2) A bunch of feathers or a plume, especially on a helmet.

So go find some feathers!

Wow, Dave,
You've had some real challenges out there on the southern high route!  I loved reading your entries and got cold (sort of ) along with you!

I've stayed at Ghost Ranch and spent time driving most of the San Juan Valley, so your descriptions evoke great memories, images and smells.

Take care of yourselves and come home happy!

With affection,
Kay
