Sun Apr 9 20:40:57 PDT 2000 Susan MORGAN Barrett sbarrett@indy.net I am looking for information on a William Morgan born 1773-4 in Tn. or at least he says he is on the 1830-50 census. In 1860 he says he was born in VA. He came to Morgan Co., IN. with 8 children and his wife (unknown). Included in these children were

       Thomas b. 1810 (TN),
William Jr. b. 1811 TN, and
       Abram b. 1822 (TN).
This leads me to believe he came to Indiana sometime after 1823. He was a farmer and his son, Thomas, was a brickmaker who returned to farming. The family came with the Nobles, Jesse and Eli Overton, David Collins, Maxwells, Griggs, and Eli Rinker. Appearing in the family cemetery are William, Thomas, a Keziah H. J.Parsons, Dennis Gregory, Arimintha Morgan and a Mary J. (Morgan) wife of Thomas Carney. Anyone having any of these names in their history, please e-mail me. I am stopped and can not go beyond Thomas. Thank you. Susan

Sat Mar 10 22:29:36 PST 2001 Robin H. Bailey rhb2805@aol.com I was researching my great grandmother (perhaps great-great) Roxanna Elizabeth McGee Cole who created dolls (of the "rag" type) during the post Civil War (War between the States). Her daughter Josephine June Thompson was my father's mother. I have been unsuccessful in locating material about her but when I researched her name, the web returned me to your site. There I found such names as "Cole" & McGee (sometimes spelled McGhee). She resided in Conway, ARKANSAS and I believe Ripley, Mississippi, the later during THE war. I am in possession of two of her dolls i.e the one we call "Grandma" (an exact replica of her, even down to her own hair and wire glasses--the original of which are in my possession, and "Baby Doll" who holds a "beaten biscuit". I also have within my family actual "Civil War" letters written between Ripley & Franklin County, Tenn. to a "Cousin Blanche". Any information you may have regarding this famous relative would be greatly appreciated. You can reach me for further information at RHB2805@aol.com. Looking forward to a positive reply. Sincerely, Robin.

Tue May 1 17:22:19 PDT 2001 Hallie Garrison fnhmg@felpsis.net I was looking for my ancestors, but don't believe any of them were from Indiana. They were from Texas and Alabama, namely Jesse Hobbs who was from Alabama who married Celia Lee, daughter of Patillo Lee, grandaughter of Henry Williams of the "Old 300" of Austin's Colony in Texas. Can find nothing on Jesse's family as all courthouse records were burned. Maybe this will help me eventually but not now. I like what you've done. Maybe I can do the same for the Lee family some day.
