This Egyptian goddess, whose name I later learned to be Metseger, was placed in desert tombs to protect royal mummies. I based this on a 2-dimensional tomb carving.

I worked the body in peyote stitch around a clay core. The head is hollow, and I had to decapitate her twice before I got the face I wanted. The wings were made with the South African double-faced scallop stitch.
