The marriage of Miss Mary Marguerite
PHILLIPS, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert A. PHILLIPS,
and Mr. Roy Lyman NEWHOUSER will take place at noon
today at the residence of the bride in Twenty-first
street. The Rev. G. Freeland PETER, of the Church of
the Epiphany, will officiate. There will be present
only members of the families and a few intimate
friends, and with the exception of Mr. William
TURKENTON, who is to be the best man, there will be no
attendants.
A breakfast and informal wedding reception will follow
the ceremony, after which Mr. NEWHOUSER and his bride
will leave Washington for a wedding trip. On their
return they will take up a temporary residence at the
PHILLIPS home in Twenty-first street.

The marriage of Miss Mary Marguerite
PHILLIPS, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert A. PHILLIPS,
and Mr. Roy Lyman NEWHOUSER, took place at noon
yesterday at the home of the bride in Twenty-first
street, the Rev. J. Freeland PETER, of the Church of
the Epiphany, officiating. There was present only a
small company of relatives and friends.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her father,
wore a handsome gown of white satin, made princesse,
and trimmed with lace and chiffon. She wore a tulle
veil and orange blossoms, and carried a shower of
bride roses and lilies of the valley. Her only
ornament was a handsome aquamarine pendant, the gift
of the bridegroom.
Mr. William TURKENTON was the best man.
After an informal breakfast and reception, Mr. and
Mrs. NEWHOUSER left Washington for their wedding trip.
Mrs. NEWHOUSER traveled in a smart suit of amethyst
broadcloth, with a hat to match trimmed with willow
plumes. On their return they will live at 1707
Twenty-first street.
Among those present at the wedding were Mr. and Mrs.
C.W. NEWHOUSER, Mr. and Mrs. Asa E. PHILLIPS, Mr.
Harry PHILLIPS, Miss Corinne BRADDOCK, Miss Marie

"ROY L. NEUHAUSER".
[P. 185.] Roy L. NEUHAUSER has
taken a prominent place in the activities of the city,
possessing not only a genius for institutions and
business management but also keenly interested in the
civic affairs of Washington. A dominant figure in
several important financial organizations, he served
two terms as president of the local chapter of the
American Institute of Banking, seven terms as
treasurer of the Arts Club of Washington, and three
terms as secretary of the City Club. As an attorney,
he practiced before the Courts of the District of
Columbia, having been admitted to practice in 1913.
Worthy civic and educational projects have always
received his maximum co-operation.
In 1918 Mr. NEUHAUSER organized the Citizens Savings
Bank and became its vice-president, an office he
continues to hold. For five years, 1918-1923, he was
associated with the National City Company,
investments, severing this connections to organize and
found the Perpetual Finance Corporation, of which he
is president and the Real Estate Mortgage &
Guaranty Corportation, of which he is
vice-president.
He is at present chairman of the finance committee of
the Washington Chapter, Boy Scouts of America, an
organization in which he takes a keen interest. He is
a thirty-second degree Mason, a member of the Temple
Noyes Blue Lodge, Ancient Arabic Order, Nobles of the
Mystic Shrine; is a member of the Board of Trade,
Kiwanis Club, Arts Club, City Club, [P.312]
Raquet Club, Washington Golf and Country Club;
Congressional Country Club and the Theta Delta Chi
Fraternity.
A native of Pennsylvania, Roy L. NEUHAUSER was born
June 24, 1886, at Shenandoah, that State, son of
Charles W. and Emma Jane (BREISCH) NEUHAUSER. He was
educated in the public schools of Shenandoah and there
prepared for college, entering George Washington
University in 1905, and graduating from the academic
course in 1909 with the degree of A.B. He pursued the
study of law and was graduated from the George
Washington University Law School in 1912 with the
degree L.L.B. His marriage to Marguerite PHILLIPS of
this city took place in Washington, D.C. on the
twelfth day of September, 1910. Mr. and Mrs. NEUHAUSER
have two sons, Roy L. NEUHAUSER, Jr. and Robert
Phillips NEUHAUSER, and a daughter Mary Imogene.

Investment Firm Head Succumbs
Roy L. Neuhauser Collapses in Street Here
With Hemorrhage.
Collapsing at Fourteenth and G streets last night, Roy
L. NEUHAUSER, 43-year-old president of the investment
company which bears his name, died at his home, 1847
Kalorama road, last night. Death was attributed to a
hemorrhage of the brain.
Mr. Neuhauser was taken home by friends and his
physician, Dr. W. Sinclair BOWEN of 2311 Connecticut
avenue, was summonded. It was at once evident that his
condition was grave. Death came a few hours later.
Born in Pennsylvania
Mr. NEUHAUSER was born in Shenandoah, PA, but was
educated in Washington and has resided here since. At
the time of his death he was vice president of the
Real Estate Mortgage Guaranty Corporation, and a
member of the City, Congressional and Racquet Clubs.
He was also a member of the Kallopolis Grotto, Almas
Temple and Temple-Noyes Lodge of Masons.
He was one of the organizers and at one time vice
president of the old Citizens' Savings Bank. He
formerly was head of the bond department of the Munsey
Trust Co. and was connected with the Washington branch
of the Nationals City Co.
Surviving him are his widow, Mrs. Marguerite PHILLIPS
NEUHAUSER; three sons, Roy L., Jr., Robert and
William; a daughter, Imogene; his mother, Mrs C. W.
NEUHAUSER; three sisters, Miss Nora H. and Miss B. C.
NEUHAUSER, all of Washington, and Mrs. Bertha G.
MILLARD of Olympia, Wash.

Obituary: Daniel NEWHOUSER Jr., 74, of
Etters died Friday in Memorial Hospital, York. He
retired from Pennsy Supply Co.; was an Army veteran of
World War II; and a member of Goldsboro Church of God
and New Cumberland American Legion Post 143. He was
the widower of Geraldine M. Brinton Newhouser.
Surviving are a son, Daniel III of Carlisle; a
daughter, Beth Ann of Etters; a brother, John of
Millville, N.J.; two sisters, Lois Bevan of
Mauricetown, N.J., and Joyce Schellinger of Tuckahoe,
N.J.; and a grandson.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Little
Funeral Home, Manchester. Burial will be in Paddletown
Cemetery, Newberry Twp. Viewing will be from 7 to 9
p.m. Monday and 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral
home. Memorial contributions may be made to his
church, PO Box 235, Etters 17319.
