Lord knows there are plenty of KLR650's out there, plenty of web sites dedicated to them, and scads of aftermarket goodies and homemade modifications, but what about the KLR250? The KLR Jr. was been in production for over 20 years without substantial changes(?); Kawasaki must be selling them to someone (over a big chunk of the globe). Maybe that someone is you; if so then this website is for you (and your KLR250).

Every web endevor dreams of having their own headquarters, and the Information Exchange's dream has come true. Granted, it is more like a cubicle with a lid, or pehaps a sardine tin, but it happens to be located on prime OC real estate, and the commute is against the flow! That is the R&D wing on the right.

When talk turns to the weaknesses of the KLR Jr., most complaints are regarding its off-road prowess (no one has complained yet about how nice those counterbalancers work while you are zipping down the highway). Now let's be realistic about what the KLR is and isn't. This is definitely a dual-sport bike, not a dirt bike. You are never going to make a KTM out of it, but you can make it a better dual-sport.


That means I need your help, tell me about the parts you have seen or tried, where to get them, and the changes that you have made to your KLR250 that helped improve it, or even the ones that didn't.

Adventure is Just Around the Corner...

One of the nice things about the KLR Jr. is that it is as at home on the road to the trail as it is on the trail. This means that, like its larger sibling the KLR650, it is more suited to "Adventure Touring" than many other dualsport motorcycles. Its only limitation when compaired to the typical jumbo-dualsport being the size of its engine; meaning that you need to watch the weight of what you pack more carefully and that you may want (or need) to progress down the highway at a pace more conducive to taking in the scenery than reeling in the miles. Whether you plan ahead for a year, or just hop on and ride off into the sunset...share your best KLR Jr. adventure with us. Let the adventure begin.
