Flower Remedies:
What Are they? How do they work? Flower Remedies, or Flower Essences, are infusions of plant material in water with some sort of natural preservative (usually brandy or glycerine) to keep them from getting hairy. Their effect on the body is vibrational; there is no plant material to cause an adverse reaction. Just as a pair of tuning forks or tuned violin strings will vibrate in sympathy with each other. Flower remedies carry energies which support our best characteristics; borage tapping into our courageous and optimistic nature, for example. The signatures of each flower relate to positive qualities in our own nature, restoring us to a state of balance and harmony. They are motivators for positive change, reminding us of our most positive and constructive qualities. History of Flower RemediesThe original flower essences were developed by Dr. Edward Bach in the 1930s. An English physician, bacteriologist and homeopath, He began to experiment with finding plants which would target each of 38 negative states and developed the original Bach Flowers. Since then, flower remedies have been made from flowers from Alaska to Australia and are used for people and pets throughout the world.
