Cozad, Nebraska

Cozad was my grandmother's home town, and I feel an affinity for it, even though my family left in 1904.

I have donated a number of artifacts to the 100th Meridian Museum, which holds regular exhibits and events to connect townspeople with their history. I contributed a history of the little-known settlement of Level, where an ancestor was postmaster. Great-great-grandfather Rufus Peck was Justice of the Peace.

Level disappeared from maps about 1903, when Rural Free Delivery eliminated the Level post office. Ironically, my other great-great-grandfather , John S. Larmon, was one of the first RFD postal workers (he made his rounds with horse and buggy).
