January 20, 2007 The long awaited library I work at is reopening today. I am very excited to see some old faces and hopefully
some new ones as well. The building looked a little messy when we left last night but the cleaning crew came in to take over.
It will be nice to have a consistant routine again.
On Thursday of this week, we got some snow-yes here in NC. I was caught off guard by it and Jess did not even see any
because he got to work before it started. Most of it was melted by the time he left work. Maybe an inch total.
I will be sure to fill you in on all the goodies from work today. UNC is also playing Georgia Tech today. I have a feeling
that the game will be off of my mind by midday. Go Heels!
January 15, 2007 Another week has flown by. Jess was in Texas last week so we catch up over the weekend.
Friday, Jess and I found out some awesome news about two boys from Missouri that had been found after being kidnapped.
One of them was gone for 4 days and the other was missing since 2001. We are praising God for their return and know He has
a plan in everything. Jess and I could not get rid of our goosebumps everytime there was an update on the news or Internet.
That same evening, my good friend Tricia had her first baby. Tricia was my roommate in college and her husband was Jess'
roommate. Kind of cool how that worked out. I can't wait to see her little boy.
I happen to be off work today and I am on a mission. The road coming up to our subdivision has trash all over the place
so I have been out picking it up.
This Saturday (Jan 20th), the library opens back up. I am excited to see the patrons again and start programs with the
kids too. Along with work, I am trying to decide if I will go back to school to get my master's in Library Science. I know
it sounds crazy to some, but you have to have a master's to be a Librarian. I enjoy the job and plan to continue working there
so I have been encourage to try it out.
I'll try to not wait so long for updates next time.
January 5, 2007 Well, we made it through the week. Still a little tired from all the days off but making it alright. Only
two weeks until the new library opens. All of the employees are ready for the long awaited opening to get back into a routine.
Jan 1, 2007... Happy New Year! Jess and I are living up our last vacation day before we get back to the grind of work.
Who came up with this work stuff anyway :) Seriously, we have been off work since December 21st when we started our holiday
travels to Indiana and Missouri. We both were able to see a few old friends and catch up which is always great. After a couple
of days in St. Charles, MO at my brother's house, we headed to Jess' parents house. Upon heading home, we ran into some snow
in West Virginia. I am glad Jess was driving because I would have been a basket case. It's like it kind of came out of nowhere.
We have had a great time hanging out and getting some things done around the house. Some of those things include eating,
snacking and did I mention stuffing our faces.
We did hit the UNC-Rutgers game last Thursday. It was a good time as always. Not sure we will know how to function at
work tomorrow, but we will do what we can.
