What's New?
3/14/08-The Nova moves! Check it out!
2/16/08-I've finished running all new brake lines on the nova and have mounted the Wilwood proportioning valve. Details are
in the Nova section of this site.
12/29/07-I was able to get a few more things accomplished on the Nova during the Christmas break. It is slowly getting closer
to moving off of the lift!
12/2/07-The major work on the brake pedal bracket is finished. I have uploaded pictures and you can see the progress by clicking
on the "Nova" link to the left.
11/23/07-I know it has been a long time since I have updated the website. I have been making steady progress on the car on
the weekends I am at home, I just have not taken many pictures. During the firewall modification, I had to remove the steering
column. When it was out, I noticed that there was a lot of play in the shaft. I rebuilt it with new bearings and removed
all of the unnecessary linkage that was associated with the original 3 speed. I also rotated that collar that the "3 on the
tree" shifter was attached to. The mounting point for the shifter was ground off and I added a plate with a tapped hole.
This will now be used for the tachometer mount. To finish it off, I ordered a Budnik steering wheel through my favorite supplier,
Detroit Speed. I will get pictures posted once it is back in the car.
I have also modified the brake pedal bracket. Since it bolted to firewall in the area of the old master cylinder, I modified
it so it will bolt to the new plate in the firewall and also to the new brake booster bolt pattern. I'll do my best to get
some pictures up in the next week.
9/18/07-The firewall is finished on the Nova. It took a lot longer than I anticipated. Thankfully, I am not on a tight schedule!
9/3/07-I was able to get a little more accomplished on the Nova over the Labor Day Weekend. I still have a lot to do before
the master cylinder can be mounted...but there is some progress!
8/25/07-Well, Tennessee was a lot of fun and very relaxing.
I'm still hammering away on the Nova. It is going very slow, but I am happy with the results.
7/22/07-Kristy and I are planning a trip to Tennessee with my parents about 4 weeks from now. We are excited!
We have also gave in to the latest trends and joined Facebook. Crazy, I know!
As far as the Nova, I started making the plans for mounting the master cylinder.
6/30/07-I was able to get the front sway bar installed on the Nova last weekend and started mounting the C5 Corvette master
cylinder this weekend. Pictures can be found on the "Nova" page.
6/3/07-Kristy and I went to a local car show with our friends Mark and Jenny. You can check out a few pictures here: Butner Car Show
I also worked on the Nova a little over the weekend. I installed 1/2 height solid body bushings, which dropped the front
end of the car another 1/2". It is starting to get closer to the ride height that I want. I also installed the front shocks.
The next step is to get the new master cylinder (it is on the way) and install the front sway bar. I'll get pictures up
in the next couple of weeks.
5/28/07-I was able to get the control arms, springs, spindles and hubs reinstalled on the Nova. I also put the brakes on
for the first time (mock up). There are more details on the Nova page.
5/21/07-Things have been crazy lately. I did take a few minutes to add a quick update to the Nova page.
5/14/07-Last weekend, Kristy and I went to the Outer Banks. This was the first time we had been to this part of the East
Coast. It was a really good time. We stayed in a town called Buxton, which is close to the Hatteras Light House. The town
is really laid back, the beaches are great and the weather was awesome. You can check out some pictures here: OBX Pictures
1/26/07 - I have finished up the rear suspension on the Nova. Click the "Nova" link on the left to find out more.
1/1/07 - Well...everything is new. The main reason I decided to build another web site is to document the build of my
Chevrolet Nova. Check it out!
