Released: Buena Vista Pictures, 1997
If you have the feeling that there's something terribly geeky about this movie, you're absolutely right. Tom Everett Scott (That Thing You Do!) will do well to bury this title deeply in his résumé, for the main plot device is a gang of spooky Frenchmen-turned-werewolves attempting to werewolf-ify everyone in sight. The prominent affixations to either sex or gore that the cast of twentysomethings exhibits reeks of a Wes Cravenian touch -- so much so that this film will doubtlessly be lumped in with other members of the horror renaissance of 1997 (Scream, its sequel, and I Know What You Did Last Summer). It could've been more fun but everything's been dumbed down for the teenage target audience. Loosely based on 1981's An American Werewolf in London.
