Carol Gittins

Sensei Carol has been studying the martial arts for over thirty years. She began training in Goju-Ryu karate in 1972 at the Bellingham Academy of Self-Defense. Sensei Carol has also studied Gojukai karate under Bill Reuter,under whom she received her Shodan (First Degree Black Belt) in 1976. She has additionally trained in Mantis style kung-fu under Mark Jones. Sensei Carol has been teaching karate since 1977, when she started the North Kitsap Karate Club. Sensei Carol is currently holds a rank of Sixth Degree black belt, as well as Renshi, and is an Assistant Director of the GKK.

Boyd Gittins

Sensei Boyd has been training in the martial arts for over thirty years. He began training in 1968 under Sensei Chinen. Sensei Boyd has trained at the Bellingham Academy of Self Defense, and trained under Bill Reuter in Gojukai karate. Sensei Boyd has trained in both aikido and judo, as well as receiving training while in the Army as part of the Military Police. Sensei Boyd currently holds the rank of Sixth Degree black belt, as well as Renshi.

Andrew McLane

Andrew began training at age eleven in Budokukan karate, a style which he studied for two and a half years. He then stopped training during high school. After entering college, regretting that he had quit training, he decided to find a new school, and ended up studying Goju-Ryu karate with Boyd Gittins. Andrew has been training with the Gittins for five years, and is currently a San-Dan (Third Degree Black Belt) in Goju-Ryu karate. Andrew has also studied Shin-Ryu Aikido at the UW with Sensei Barrnet.
