Some families know a great deal about their roots; others know very little. This site is an attempt to record what I've learned
about our family history. In these modern times, families tend to be scattered all over the country, if not the world. One
of the goals of this web site is to help our family stay connected even though we live far apart.

Margaret (Dixon) Latimer with her husband, William Latimer, III
(estimated date of photo is 1920, possible photo location is Cheboygan, Michigan)
William Latimer III (born 12/25/1858, Angus, Simcoe County, Ontario, Canada - died 1/25/1921, at his home near
Mullett Lake, Inverness Township, Cheboygan County, Michigan, from "angina pectoris" heart disease). He was a lumberman,
married 9/29/1886, in Lisle, Simcoe County, Ontario, Canada, to Margaret "Maggie" Dixon/or Dickson (born 09/23/1863, Port
Riche, Grey County, Ontario - died 5/18/1930, Detroit, Michigan). William had been a foreman for M. D. (Millard
David) Olds and an official board member of the M.E. Church (both in Cheboygan after moving there in 1881, and returning briefly
to Canada in 1886 to marry Maggie). In the Spring of 1919, he bought the M-27 "Mullett Lake farm" (now commonly
known as 9916, 9990, & 9872 N. Straits Hwy.) and shortly afterwards a Model T Ford, which he and his son, Ken learned
to drive. At the time of his death he still owned and rented out his house at 416 Elm Street, Cheboygan, Michigan.
Maggie came to live in Detroit with her daughter, Ella, after William's death, where she was very much involved with
St. Paul's Methodist Episcopal Church. This photo was contributed by their granddaughter, Margaret Alice (Mann)
Hanna Hauser.
