Japanese Children
Japanese and foreign children are available from Japan.
Note: The requirements and process below is combined with US laws, but it should be a basis
for citizens of other countries.
Requirements
Parents must be at least 25. Singles may adopt on a case-to-case basis.
Process
Parents can find children through the Japanese govt's center (Child Guidance Center - CGC) for adoption or adoption agencies,
etc. The child must meet the defination of an orphan by both Japan and the US. Only the CGC can decide if a child is an orphan
by Japan's standards. Parents can receive a list of agencies working in Japan from the US Embassy in Tokyo. All documents
must be translated into Japanese.
