Lebanese Children

All children are available from Christian orphanages and other Christian institutions. Special needs children are available.

Note: The requirements and process below is combined with US laws, but it should be a basis for citizens of other countries.

Requirements

Parents must be at least 40, and have an 18 year age difference between themselves and the child. The age difference is 15 years if the adoption is completed through the Armenian Orthodox church. Singles and married couples alike may adopt, but married couples should travel together to complete adoption. If a couple is completing through the Catholic church, both parents must have a similarity in religions, but they don't have to both be Catholics. Couples should be infertile. Documents to prove this is needed.

Process

One can only adopt through Christian orphanages, since the Islamic law in Lebanon allows guardianship, which isn't enough to meet US adoption laws. You must work with church authorities and the US govt, and the adoption must be approved by these systems as well as the Christian court. You must travel to Lebanon, then to the US Embassy in the capitals of Syria, Israel, the UAE, or Cyprus to issue your child an immigrant visa, then back to Lebanon, and then to escort your child to the US. It is recommended that one would use the Cyprus or UAE embassies. A lawyer who is experienced in family law may also be able to complete your adoption.
