In FY 2003, Ethiopia was the 15th most popular adoptive country in the US. In FY 2002, Ethiopia was the 16th most popular in the US. Canada's 20th most popular adoptive country was Ethiopia. Ethiopia tied with Armenia.

In 2002, 105 Ethiopians were adopted into the US. In 2002, 13 Ethiopians were adopted into Canada.

Ethiopian Children

Many older children are available, as well as some infants.Twins and siblings are available. They are tested for AIDS, tuberculosis, venereal disease, Hepatitis B, and other diseases.

Requirements

Parents must be at least 25 years old and at the most, 50 years old. Parents must send reports on the child to the Ethiopian govt. every year until age 18.

Process

It is highly recommended that the child be escorted to America because Westerners aren't always accepted by the public and it is hard for foreigners to adapt to Ethiopia
