I have been a California Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since 1980.

Since then, I have maintained my education and training with workshops, classes, Study Groups and consultation.

Below, you can see some of the trainings and education I have received during the past twenty-nine years.  (At the bottom of this page is a link to a second page of Experience and Training.)

I continue to keep in touch with developments in the field,
especially in the areas in which I specialize.

TRAUMATIC STRESS AND DISSOCIATION

Since 1988, I have participated in more than 20 trainings and conferences in the treatment of Traumatic Stress and Dissociative Disorders.

I am presently in a Dissociative Disorders Study Group, which meets on a monthly basis. I have been in this group since 1999.

I was trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Levels I and II in 1994 by Francine Shapiro, the developer of this technique.

If you would like to know more about EMDR and its use in working with Trauma, you can click on the websites below:

The EMDR Institute

The EMDR International Association

I was trained in Critical Incident Stress
Debriefing in 1990.

In 2008, I attended two courses related to Disaster Mental Health:
CISM: Critical Incident Stress Management:
Group Crisis Intervention,
Diane Myers, RN
and
The American Red Cross'
Foundations of Disaster Mental Health
Elizabeth Thompson, MFT

I am also a Contract Provider
for TOA, Trauma Outreach Associates,
an independent organization in San Francisco
that provides:
"state-of-the-art on-site crisis recovery
services to business and organizations to
help them and their employees return to
normalcy and productivity as quickly as possible."
