Here are some frogs using a fruit fly dispenser/culture jar.
I was going out of town for a week, so I started a culture in a deli cup
around a week before I left, then on the night before I left I put a perforated
lid on the culture and placed the whole thing inside the vivarium. The
frogs have had experience with this type of feeding before, so they didn't
waste too much effort trying to snap at the flies through the sides of
the cup (though the D. leucomelas at the right corner seems to have forgotten!).
They learned where the flies would emerge and spent their time sitting
on the jar waiting for them to come out of the holes. Of course, things
would probably be much easier on the frogs if I used an opaque-sided cup.
Maybe next time I will.
