All Pro-Series tools are individually and personally hand crafted, leather carving instruments, in order to achieve the finest, sharpest, cleanest images possible for the most discerning leather artisan. High carbon tool steel is used, which is heat treated and tempered to Rockwell 58 in hardness. This simply means that these are the hardest and toughest tools that have ever been available, offering decades of reliable service. Checkered or lined faces are cut by hand using checkering files, based on 50 lines per inch as a standard. Each checkered face exactly matches all other checkered patterns in my series. Coarser or finer line patterns are available. Every surface is rounded and polished to a mirror finish. This allows for easy walking without unwanted tool marks. Each tool is protected from rusting by a deep black oxide finish and is identified with gold lettering.
