Turning in Your Lab Assignments |
You shall turn in your lab assignments by making them available on a Web server of your choice. If you use Xena, you will need to FTP your files to your folder on Xena.
In the Programming Lab, BUS231, you can use WS_FTP LE, an FTP client.
To download WS_FTP LE, a free FTP client, click http://www.ftpplanet.com/download.htm.
The freeware SmartFTP is full-featured and nag-free. It is available at http://www.smartftp.com/. See the feature list at http://www.smartftp.com/features.phpHost Name: xena.smc.edu
Host Type: Automatic detect (or Microsoft NT)
User ID: SMC\yourLoginID
Password: yourPassword
Account: (leave blank)
Initial Directories
Remote Host: cs82\yourLoginID
Local PC: yourCurrentDriveAndFolder
Here is a document from Joshi John with instructions for accessing Xena: How to Access ciswebs using ws_ftp le.doc
Create a page called index.html that will contain links to your files.
Create a section for each lab assignment. In each section put links to the files for that assignment. E.g., a section may look something like this:
Lab01
Make your index.html file available on your server. If using Xena, use FTP to upload your index.html file to your folder on Xena.
If you have uploaded your index page to Xena, you can access that page with your web browser by entering the following URL into the Address textbox: http://xena.smc.edu/cs82/yourLoginID/index.html.
Send an email message to me (be sure to read the Email page). The body of your message shall contain a link to your index.html file.
After the due date for an assignment, I will go to your website, grade the assignment, and send a reply to you that contains your grade and comments.
