In our daily lives, we are often bombarded with too much extraneous information and data. In my works, I try to cull out only the necessary visual information. Simplicity and balance are two themes that I strive for in my work. Simplicity of form and color creates an understated beauty and elegance. I choose to create forms with clean lines and silhouettes that do not overpower the vessel or its environment. At the same time, I choose solid opaque colors to complement and highlight the form.

I have been working with glass for 3 years. First at the Cleveland Institute of Art and now at the Pratt Fine Arts Center, where I have been taking many classes. After two degrees in engineering and working for a few years in research, I have realized that my true passion is for creating glass art. However, I still work as a research engineer at the University of Washington to pay the bills.
