My question is: Are Pride and May on the same team.. are they both blues? Because if they are not, then it really isn't making any sense why she would try to shoot Pride, unless she wanted to delete Jay herself.

May's a blue. Pride's a red. Mouse is a red. Sammy is a red(not that he has ever or will ever matter).

Than if they are on seperate teams then it makes sense that May would attack him. Of course that antagonism also plays into the sexual metaphor. Flirts with him in the real world, shoots him and runs away in the online world.

Fine, I'll be the first. They'r constantly changing the colors of the TWop boards around here and it is freakin' me out.
Yeah, I'm bad, I'm double posting! And talking about the boards on the boards!
In other words, I was seriously freaked out by the open eye kissing. I hate it when Ebony does that. It looks so creepy. And I can't help but be grossed out. Your friend is poking his tongue in your mouth and your looking around drinking in the scenery. It's just wrong. All kinds of wrong. Kudos to Meryl Cassie for pulling it off twice!
And kudos to Tom Hern for crackin' me up! When he started to cry I totally laughed. Totally. I slapped my knee and snorted. Kellygirl knows exactly what I'm talking about. Either I'm slapping my knee or beating myself with the remote control. Tribe brings out my inner masochist.
Finally action! I was shocked by Indian girl's betrayal! Woot! And I think we are going to move forward! Ooh! And Salene confronted Pride and they didn't break up over it. Color me surprised.

The open eye kissing was cree-pee. She couldn't look more evil if she tried.
I'm just going to say it now-I hate the game addiction plotline! So stupid. I know suspension of disbelief and all but c'mon-they're all addicted to a videogame. it doesn't help when your main addict is Pride(how did I miss his acting unbility? Probably under the spell of the Pralene), then May, then random day players.
In happier news, that whole patch "I love you. it's probably just a hormonal thing" was adorable. And Mouse is so friggin cute I can barely stand it.

Yeah, the video game plot is getting in the way of the resistance plot...remember the resistance plot?
And hey! Haven't I been squeeing about the plot moving forward for weeks now? Maybe I'm crazy and it's not moving forward at all!
I swear, if Tribe 5 is not shown on WAM! then I'm cancelling the digital cable. Tribe was the only reason I upped it. I'm paying 100 bucks a month and if I can save twenty bucks well then, I'd rather downgrade and get HBO instead. Can you believe we watched the sopranos in class the other day? What's the number for Starz? Cause I'm thinking about complaining.
Oh and Chica? Word on the Pride acting. Although, when he acts all earnest? I does give me a bit of a melty. I know it shouldn't. And when he stalks around like a a cat? Well, that's just plain silly. Of course, I own a silly cat who doesn't stalk as so much launches himself rather ungracefully around the house.

My goodness.
I about died from shock upon discovering this discussion existed. I, like many others it appears, did not think that anything intelligent was being said *anywhere* about this show!! All the gushing and complaining being done on tribeworld is sickening.
Not that gushing and complaining are all bad.....but it was ridiculous over there.
So, yeah, expect to be hearing a lot from me!

zuisa, I'm totally with you. 99% of the Tribe sites out there are just scary places for anyone with mental age over 15. I made the same comment a while ago, though I haven't posted as I haven't seen season 5 down here....but I totally agree and I'm glad to see someone else who's found refuge here.
So, people that have Season 5 and VCR/DVD ways to record it are really going to be my best friends. :)
Someone should give me a Jack spoiler cause I got off my duff and posted.

Channel five has decided not to show The Tribe Season Six.Looks like we're not the only ones with Tribe problems. Even if I can't see it, I'd still like to have The Tribe going on somehwere (espcially with a kick ass recap site like Tribal Digest in existence).
Although the Season 5 finale was a good series end. Do you suppose the creators suspected this?

I've not seen any of series five, and I'm trying (unsuccessfully) to stay upspoiled. I know a lot though....and it makes me angry. Darn me and my need to see what's written under the spoiler tags!!
Speaking of spoiler tags....when do we need them? For series 5 episodes only, or past ones, or what? I'm confused, and apologize for my stupidity.
I really liked this past week's episode on WAM (it was the 200th episode!). Patch's "I think I'm in love with you. It might just be a hormonal thing." was hysterical. And Dee looked so shocked - it was great!
Ebony just freaks me out. I was very uncomfortable watching her kiss Jay while staring at Ram through the video camera. Just too darned creepy.
One thing confused me though - after Jay stops Pride, May looks like she's about to cry and runs away. Why? Was it because of what Jay said to make Pride stop, or is she all upset with herself about being tricked into the game?
Sorry to talk so much....but I have to say I like the video game addiction plotline. The resistance plot really can't continue until it's cleared up, because so much of the city is hooked. To me, it just seems like something that could really happen in today's world. People being horribly sucked into a game, because goodness knows that kids today spend so much time in front of their computers and video game systems.

I agree, but it seems like we've been bogged down in the virtual business for forever. When was the last time we saw the resistance do anything? The hospital raid right? And how long did we have to wait for that? Too long.
Welcome zuisa! So glad to see you found us! If you are interested, kellygirlygirl has archived all of our discussions since April on her website Kellygirl's PopCulture Palace. It's been a little slow going since we had such a long hiatus, but Apirl's discussion were freakin' hillarious. And that has everything to do with scapebabe's rodeo clown comment. It cracks me up everytime. Ocassionally we discuss socio-political stuff too...which is why I want the show to go back to it's roots a bit. I get the substance abuse metaphor-let's move on! Anyways, our DragonCon Reports and DragonCon Interview transcript is located there as well.
As for spoiler tags, the policy so far has been to definately spoiler tag season 5. Some of us have spoiler tagged past seasons. I tend to not spoiler tag stuff in the past because I think it helps the present make sense. Like the whole Lex/May thing. I wish I had known about that. However, others spoiler tag the past seasons...if we want to reach a consensus about that we should talk about it...so far, all I ask is that when you add spoiler tags, tell us which season. Sometimes you think you're reading season 2 stuff and then you have to bleach your eyeballs cause you read about season 5.

Hey all!
I'm thoroughly spoiled of course, so Ginny's betrayal was no surprise to me. My opinion of Nick Miller's acting skills are rapidly declining. I can sort of see him beginning to process that he doesn't want to do the show anymore, it's reflecting in his acting. Monique's still stiff as a board, but I have more empathy for Siva as a character now, isn't that weird? Ebony and Jay's kiss didn't creep me out, and I felt awful for poor Ram. Of course, I couldn't tell precisely why he was crying. Tom said at DragonCon that he didn't feel that Ram loved Ebony, so...speculation?
Btw, welcome aboard, zuisa! Along with the thread here, Panfandom.com has a good Tribe thread in their Other TV forum (we're working on getting a full forum/fan section). I would also reccomend The Tribal Alliance for more general show talk with a decently mature audience, and Tribe Undead for the fanclub for fans over 21.
By the way guys, there are huge rumors floating around about whether or not 5 is picking up a sixth season. Someone on one of the bboards got an email from Saranne confirming this, but apparently other stations have expressed interest, so I don't think Tribe is going away.
There are also rumors that WAM isn't going to show S5. Send emails to WAM, and handwritten letters to Starz-Encore as well as your local cable provider to show your support! WAM reccomends that in your correspondences to WAM and Starz-Encore, you mention who your cable provider is, and you /may/ want to mention if you upgraded your package specifically to get WAM so you could see new eps of the show.
Btw, a bit of good news - there will be a Tribal Gathering 2004 at DragonCon, but we don't know if we'll be able to get a media guest.

Thanks for the welcome, everyone!!
I'll definitely check out the Panfandom and Tribal Alliance boards, but I'll have to pass on the Over-21 discussion, seeing as I'm not. :)
I recieved an email from WAM today, and they said that while they won't deny the rumors, they are trying to get S5 and hope that they'll be able to play The Tribe for years to come. So, all hope is not lost. Send your letters! I really, really hope we get it here.

Love makes people beautiful and I guess acting like you're in love does the same because when Dee was confessing to Salene about Patch's love for her, here eyes got all melty and her skin was all glowy and I was filled with flove for her. In fact, I was thinking, "I should make a t-shirt that says, "I Flove Dee!" and wear it next year.
Everyone seemed all mellowy and in love...even Siva...for once. Although her lines should have been delivered with more inuendo, I mean, come on! "You're quite the handy man" can be said in so many ways! But of course the Lex moment for the week was the look on his face when he untaped Dee's mouth. He looked so amused. And there was a second of hesitation. I thought, "oh my God, scapebabe was right! He is into bondage!"
Did I mention I loved Dee?
Speaking of bondage, Umm, where are Jay and Ebony going? To the ecos? Does this mean we get to see Amber? Whip crackin' Amber? Man, I would have paid money to see Amber kick more Jay butt.
Java? Still only has one talent, acting bitchy. Worry, concern, love...none of those work for her. Pride? His earnestness cracks me up.
Ooh! And I'm excited that there is going to be a plan of action...FINALLY! Sweet Lord, wait untill the last minute, sheesh. 8 more eppies to go!

Goodness, please tell me they are replaying tonight's episode some time in the very near future. I asked my brother to tape it for me (and seeing as he watches the show too, I didn't think that'd be too much of an issue), but that seemed to have been too much of a challenge for him.
Do they ever replay the episodes?

chica345
Oct 11, 2003 @ 8:46 am
------------------------------------------------------------------------
They replay eps Fridays. the older ep is on at 2:00 and the newer at 2:30 (a long time to wait I know). If you miss that, the pe you haven't seen will be on at 8:30 next Friday.
Yay Salene didn't have to be depressed the whole damn episode! And she got to punch people. And got her earrings and a bee picture. I'd say that's an above par Salene day.
Did anyone else find this ep funny (okay all eps are funny but I mean intentionally)?
I liked Lex getting hit by a girl and his amused face at the tied up Dee. But the best had to be Sammy to Pride "Burn!!!". Word to the Dee prettiness. I'm totally on their ship (Pee? Datch? That's better.) And the resistence is moving again thank god. Only eight more eps? So Starz Encore has two months to get its act together the heads really start to roll.
ETA:
Pride? His earnestness cracks me up.
I think it's kinda cute. Especially his "excuse me?"

We had to make psych class egg babies. Mine is named PJ(short for Pride Jr.). He has pretty blue eyes and a nice set of dreads, if I do say so myself. I was going to give him crazy eyes on account of his dad being an "addict", but the Pride I procreated with was not addicted to The Game (and did not have the subsequent downfall in acting). My friend Lisa declared him "the ugliest baby she has ever seen". I told her if she was able to see his upper body region she'd understand.
ETA: You do not know the true meaning of "mock" until you have to get up in front of your psych class of 30 people, tell them your baby's name is Pride Jr., and that despite his feminine looks and long hair he is in fact a boy.

eta: Since I am still choking, I am now cursing your name. I loved your post so much, I think I might make it the next quote of the day on my LiveJournal. Mind if I quote ya, Chica?
Tom said at DragonCon that he didn't feel that Ram loved Ebony, so...speculation?
Tom is wrong. The end. Just kidding. Seriously, I think Tom is wrong in that RAM does love Ebony. But his love is messed up. It is possesive, selfish and needy. So you can argue that Tom is right because maybe that isn't love at all. Ya know?

Sure dreago. In baby Pride news he has now been mistaken for Bob Marley jr. oh a thousand times. And a friend(and tribehater) wrote this gem to me in a note(before she saw PJ):
How's baby Pride? Growing his first dreadlocks? Taking baby kung fu lessons? Has he had his first hit of Tetris yet? (Addiction starts early!)
It's going to be odd to watch this week. And I still haven't thoguht of a good way to kill him (PJ) yet. Something befitting of Pride. Maybe I'll throw him against a tree so he can hug it forever.

I finally just saw last friday's episode, and I'll agree, it was hysterical. Salene punching people? That just doesn't happen.
I also thought it was incredibly sweet of Pride to trade his lifetime game pass for Salene's earrings. And when Mouse said "I think he's sorry." How cute was that?
Another fan of the Patch-Dee relationship here. They are just so cute. Their akwardness made the simplest conversation (Go get the mop, Patch) absoutely hillarious.
I also loved Jay and Ebony waving to the camera. And Ram's face.
Aw, heck, I loved the entire episode.
Can't wait until tonight's!!

Yay, new episode!
Mouse is adorable. She and Pride were so cute when he rescued her and she asked him if he could read.
Siva is growing on me now that she's competent butt-kickin', nice to small children, pillowfighting playful and not that simpering crying failure of a homemaker.
I really enjoyed the scene at the table where she corrected Sammy's grammar and told Mouse she'd teach her to read. Did I mention Mouse is adorable? Which is really nice to see since most children on TV are annoying!
Whomever is playing Java is such a bad actress. That crying scene with Ram realllllyyy highlighted her acting deficits and Tom Hern's skills. Night and day.
Fun to have the Tribe back on again. (and to be unspoiled for the rest of S4 even though I know lots about S5).

Mouse is just adorable. Her acting is quite good for someone so young, I've always thought.
Hehe, I'd seen pictures online of Ebony and Jay in the hideous scarecrow clothing, but now I know *why* they were wearing it! Jay just does not look good in purple.
I am pretty much unspoiled, but I kept thinking that they'd run into the Ecos in the woods....and well, running into Amber and Trudy was even better! Nice to see them in the show again. They are such important characters, and they both seem to spend large periods of time being kidnapped and hanging with the Ecos.
More Patch-Dee akwardness. Gotta love it.
Hope y'all enjoyed the episode too!!

Ah! My peeps. How I've missed you all. I once again curse those tv executives who put too many things on at 8pm on Friday night which led to an unfortunate incident with a cable splitter that filtered out the frequency that WAM comes in on.
On the plus side, that means I got to watch the last three episodes all in a row tonight. Since I seem to be on a personal crusade to stick up for Ebony, can I just say how worried I am to have her and Jay run into Amber. I'm certainly glad to have Amber back and I can't deny the interesting chemistry between her and Jay. But Ebony has just basically laid her future in Jay's hands, promising to help him achieve his dreams. Dammit! This is what happens when you open your heart and allow yourself to be vulnerable - nothing good can come of it! *ahem* Sorry, I just find them unbearably cute together - that wave to the camera and the stinky scarecrow clothes - I'm a puddle of goo. Which reminds me... I went out of the room to get dinner and I missed why/how Ebony left Ram. I walked back into the room and she was leaving the hotel and it looked like she was crying.
I know I'm still feeling the after-effects of liking Tom Hern, but Ram going on about how he wants to live a life where he's whole and healthy really got my sympathies worked up. I'm still massively confused as to whether Java is on his side or not. There seemed to be an undercurrent between her and Ved that made me think they may have decided to work together. And is this new guy in on it too? Speaking of which, he really needs to lose the shifty eyes. Okay, I get it. You're not being entirely honest. How no one else notices that is beyond me. I mean, Ram is not supposed to be a complete idiot though his meglomania seems to be growing.
I am finding some of the other characters to be a little off. Pride seems to slip too easily between addict and perfectly coherent and I have yet to see May exhibit much in the way of addiction. I find it hard to believe the new Salene would walk away from a confrontation with Pride. And Siva... yeah, well I can't really blame that problem on the character. However, I am 100% in agreement with everyone that Dee is lovely and adorable in this situation with Patch.

I waited too long to post and now I barely remember what happened in the ep. Here we go:
Jay and Ebony are too cute (but with Amber back? I sense yet another triangle forming). Dee and Patch are too cute. Don't feel like gushing so moving on...
I digging the new Siva because she's not such a baby/pushover anymore. The acting is still pretty bad though. The pillow fight was completely random, but still very cute.
I feel like Sal and Pride are very close to breaking up. My heart weeps. But Shouldn't May be a little worried with the way Pride is acting? And how (at least for part of the time she was living there and "there")Pride and Salene slept in the same bed? I guess The Game has given her delusions about her and Pride. Not that she didn't have them already.
I think Mega's kinda hot. Yes I'm crazy. And when did Java become all lovey-dovey with Ram? Wasn't it all just a job for her?
curse those tv executives who put too many things on at 8pm on Friday night
As of now I'm wacthing Joan of Arcadia at 8 while taping The Tribe in another room. Then I watch the tape at nine and rewind it so I can catch the 10 Degrassi and tape the end so I can get to work on Saturday without being a zombie. God forbid I want to go out. the worse thing is that these are the only tv shows I care about. I'm willing to miss everything else on tv.

Dreago according to Tribal Digest Pride said it's over (meaning with May) and Sal thought it was over with her and agreed that they were over. Big misunderstanding. A Three's Company breakup if you will.
Ved's missing? Tee Hee. He creeped me out with his 14 year old face combined with a giant-esque body (at least compared with Ebony and sisters).

Well, I finally got to see last week’s episode after returning from my trip last night and, uh, wow. The scene, you know – the one everyone is talking about, uh, wow. I just felt mighty uncomfortable watching that – and it’s not like I haven’t seen porn before. It was something in the way Java was panting and biting her lip, not to mention the way she whispered/moaned ‘more.’ And then there’s Ram taunting her while caressing her face as she’s getting all turned on being with virtual Lex. This is a whole new side of Ram I’m seeing. Yes, early in the season we saw him in the virtual world with both Siva and Java but that was when he was super germ-phobic so it didn’t have quite the same sexual edge. Now, forget germs, he’s a very dirty boy. Which reminds me, I got a huge giggle out of “nature sucks” since not only do I agree with the sentiment but the delivery was priceless. I am kind of worried about Ram’s crazed ramblings about Ved. I had just assumed that Ved was trying to find/rescue Jay but Ram made it sound a whole lot more sinister.
Lex and his position as head stud also gave me quite the laugh – Caleb Ross does such a good job with him. Lex really seems to think he has “it” but what he doesn’t realize is that women totally see through and are amused by guys like him even as they let them get away with it by pretending to fall for it. I’m not fully convinced that he’s the person Patch would go to for advice but then again, there really is no one else. Hell, it wasn’t long ago that Patch went to Sammy for advice. But Dee was so girlish and adorable - when are those two crazy kids going to get it together?
I actually love that the tension between Ebony and Amber is just never going to end, even if they are fighting on the same side. And quite frankly I think they are both guilty of sustaining it. Ebony always lets her insecurity get the best of her and I don’t think Amber is stupid enough to not realize it but she doesn’t do anything make the situation easier. I know she’s got a lot to resent Ebony for but when it comes to this she disregards what would be best for everyone in favor of giving in to her own pettiness.
Other brief thoughts: Trudy and her drama queen ways still work my last nerve. I wish they’d do more with May. I’m hoping there is more to the whatever with her and Pride than just the game. Because so far that’s all she’s been – another addict – when with her history, things could get a lot more interesting.

Of course you know I have to say this, but how was Amber petty? She tried to make peace last night! She let them stay at the camp! She even got Ebony's clothes back for her, that last one was really thoughtful of her. Ebony pushes and pushes and Amber has to be extra good and saintly? That's not fair.
