Ebay Search Tips
Ebay can
be overwhelming, but you can almost always find what you are looking for
at a much reduced price. Just be sure and check the seller's feedback and
also ask about expiration dates if they are not in the item description.
Here are a few simple search tips. To do a search for SCA French vanilla
meltdown, search in both the description and the title and type this in
exactly as I have it written: "signature club" vanilla melt* This will
return items where the words "signature" and "club" are next to one
another. (Search for exact phrases using quotation marks (" ")), plus
vanilla must be in the title or desciption, plus the word melt, but also
meltdown (by typing an * (asterisk symbol) at the end of a word, you can
search for items with multiple endings). To do a search for SSC items,
type in: "serious skin" emu cr* This will return the emu cream, but using
the asterick after the cr* will ensure that items spelled cream or creme
will be returned. You can also do the same search, but use SCA and SSC
instead of the words spelled out. Hope this narrows things down a bit for
some.
Advanced Search Tips Search for exact phrases using
quotation marks (" ") Typing "Statue of Liberty" or "Gone With the Wind"
will find items with those exact words in sequence. Without the quotation
marks, you could wind up with many other listings containing the words
"statue" or "liberty."
Use the minus sign (-) to narrow your search If
you enter antique -lamp, that tells the search engine to include the word
antique but not lamp. Don't forget-there's no space after the sign (e.g.
-card, -teddy).
Use a wildcard (*) for multiple endings By typing an *
(asterisk symbol) at the end of a word, you can search for items with
multiple endings. For example: Beatles man* would return items such as
Beatles manager, Beatles mania, Beatles Nowhere Man,
etc.
