General Information
AWANA is a nondenominational Bible-centered youth ministry offered by Midvalley Bible Church as a positive influence in the development of young people. The AWANA name is derived from "Approved Workman Are Not Ashamed." which is the idea found in 2 Timothy 2:15. Since 1950, churches have been using AWANA to reach out to the youth in their communities. Currently there are over 11,200 churches with registered AWANA ministries in the US; Midvalley Bible Church is club #581 and has been offering the AWANA ministry since 1968. For more information on AWANA, see their national site at www.AWANA.org.

This is our 39th year with AWANA (and 2 of our Leaders have been working in our Club all 39 of those years!). We consider it a privilege to be involved with a ministry so focused on reaching kids; why? "Because kids matter to God".

We hold Club Night at our church building in Bluffdale just south of the Bangarter Hwy on 2700 West.

The Cubbies, Sparks, T & T, Trek and Journey 24-7 clubs meet on Tuesday nights from 7:00 - 8:30pm, September through April.

Kids & Parents Love AWANA!
The goal of AWANA Clubs is to reach boys and girls for Christ and train them to serve Him. The AWANA Clubs program is distinctively Christian and Bible-centered. Of course, AWANA does not exclude kids based on their religious affiliation. The club meetings are open to all!

Why do hundreds of thousands of kids attend AWANA each week? AWANA is fun! That's the bottom line for most kids. Of course, they're learning and growing while they are having fun.

Special Note to Parents
You are always welcome to visit our clubs any time throughout the club year! Just check-in with a uniformed AWANA Leader.

Cost:
There is no increase over last year's dues. And again we will be offering the benefit of a free Handbook if dues are paid in the first month or if parents sign-up for the Family Plan Option.
Dues are as follows:

  • $30 for Cubbies & Sparks
  • $40 for T&T, JV, & Journey 24/7
Dues are collected to cover operation expenses including equipment, facilities, materials, awards, contests, etc. (Please know that AWANA Club Leaders and Helpers are not paid, they volunteer their time.)

If for any reason the cost of the club present a financial difficulty, please get in touch with the AWANA Commander or a Club Director. We do not want any child to miss out on the fun of AWANA due to finances. Special arrangements can be made to ease this burden.

Family Plan Option: To offset the initial financial burden for parents with more than 1 child in the program, a parent may pay the dues for the first child in the first month, a second child in the second month, and so on. If the parent agrees to this option, the first book for each child will be free.

Late-Start Prorate: Dues will be prorated for “late-starters” using the following guidelines. Clubbers starting anytime in the 1st quarter of the club year will pay 100% of dues, those starting anytime in the 2nd quarter will pay 75% of dues, those starting anytime in the 3rd quarter will pay 50% of dues, and those starting anytime in the 4th quarter will pay 25% of dues.

Handbooks
The curriculum for each club starts with an Entrance Booklet which is given free of charge to every visitor and new Clubber. These booklets can be completed in 1-3 Club meetings.

Upon completion of the Entrance Booklet, a Clubber is required to have their own Handbook. The Handbooks are designed for self-paced learning and can be completed in one Club Year but may be used for multiple Club Years. Clubbers are highly encouraged to write their names inside their Handbooks to prevent losing them at Club meetings. Lost books can be replaced purchasing a new book.

Uniforms
Also upon completion of the Entrance Booklet, a Clubber is eligible (and encouraged) to purchase and wear the AWANA uniform to Club. AWANA requires a Clubber to wear a uniform in order to receive the awards they earn. Prices of new uniforms vary by Club. Occasionally we also have used (clean) uniforms available at half price; see the Directors for availability.

Awards
Clubbers are not charged for awards; they earned them thought diligent work and deserve them.
