National Gallery Directory of Programs National Gallery maintains a national directory of teacher programs and resources at art museums across the country. Directory can be searched by theme. Use the arts while teaching Social Studies.

Maryland Historical Society - Educational Maryland Historical Society's educational support. Has guideline information for teaching with historical documents, a Living History program (presenters will come to you school). travelling trunks of artifacts, teacher workshops, teacher memberships, etc. A great place for teachers to visit. I have done research in their library.
The Gateway provides over 5,000 -teacher-created lessons, and has lists of subjects, sub-topics,etc.

Global Schools/Net Internet Projects Registry is a clearinghouse for Net projects sorted by subject, age group, start date and technologies used (e.g.: video, email,etc.) Searchable by curriculum (e.g.: History) and/or technology used, etc. Also has links to their favorite sites (who doesn't?). As of 990821, had 214 projects cataloged.
Social Studies Resources from the Federal Government these are free items, and many can be found on-line.
National Archives Digital Classroom. Site contains many lessons with links to primary documents.
Congressional Heritage Act on the Constitution an excellent resource for lesson plans related to all aspects of the Constitution. Also, free materials available here.
We The People -is a civic education program about the history and philosophy of the Constitution and Bill of Rights. Site contains a link for ordering free instructional materials.
