Kadan blinks. Earendil: I will get him. GMRune: But the blue dragon is apparently alive, if not in the bst of health. Ayeye: We really have to learn that trick. Geint: Well, Canth! Bet your suprised to see me! ;} Valina: We do... Earendil looks up, finally noticing the Blue Dragon. The dragon turns to look at the party, and then his aging eyes focus on Geint. Tarrant looks at the dragon's massive body. Dragon: Geint. Hello, it's so nice to see you again. Geint: Yikes....they really made a mess of you.. =( The dragon coughs and shifts his position to better look at you. Kadan decides to keep his distance from the great magical beast. Valina looks at the dragon... Geint: Well, big guy, why did they want you?? Arzel stares at the dragon...never having seen anything so big Earendil: *whispering* One of the dragons, I had never thought to meet one in my lifetime. The dragon's gaze passes over the party, noting each of its members. It seems to gaze thoughtfully at Ayeye for a moment. But it could have been nothing more than a passing curiosity. Kadan slinks backward in apprehension. Tarrant thinks to himself about that rumor about dragon shi.... Dragon: The warlocks are searching for the missing gem of the Pendant of Hope. They knew I was the last to have seen it. Valina just stands there and stares... Kadan walks up to Valina. "Which pendant is yours called?" Valina: The gem? Geint: Oh! Good thing you didn't tell them. Those guys are a pain in the tail fer sure! Dragon: Oh, I must be getting old... I've forgotten to introduce myself to your friends, Geint. My name is Canth. Geint: See? Now you guys get to meet the guy I was blabbering about the whole trip around here! Canth: I didn't tell them, Geint. But Gausuton was right about one thing. Even if they killed me they would eventually find the gem on their own. Valina: Well met Canth... Is this the gem which belongs to my pendant? Canth: If you are the pendant bearer they were speaking of, then yes. Tarrant: That's why we have to find it first. Geint: Yea.....so will you tell us, Can? Canth: I seperated the gem from its pendant many centuries ago, and hid it, to further prevent the use of the Serpent Staff. Valina: Indeed I am... Valina: The serpent staff? Geint: The what?? *I* haven't even heard about that! Canth shifts his great bulk as he stretches himself. Canth: The Serpent Staff is an ancient artifact the warlocks now have in their grasp. Canth: I'm certain at least some of you have heard of it. Kadan nods. Earendil: Just recently, yes. Valina: I don't know what that is... but I don't like the sound of it! Geint: Yikes! Bummer! That's bad.......well, we'll still get it! Kadan turns to Valina. "That staff embraces the most evil and wicked facets of magic power. It is the object of my current hunt." Arzel: Canth, and about the pendant I have? Canth looks curiously at Arzel. Canth: You have a pendant? Arzel takes out the pendant he found. Arzel: I found it a while ago. GMRune: Arzel gets electrocuted by the pendant. :) GMRune: He is forced to drop it. Earendil: It likes to turn stone statues to life. Arzel: It's been activating strange statues. Valina: That doesn't sound good at all... Arzel: Ouch! Arzel: I forgot about that. Ayeye: And paintings, you might want to get someone in to repaint the mural out there. Canth leans forward and stretches his neck out to look at the pendant. Geint: Yea....... Valina: My pendant has never done that...! Arzel: Well, that one's not mine. Geint: They were pretty, too. Any idea why the monster in it would be activated? Canth: Hmm... This is one of the three pendants. The Pendant of Chaos unless my eyes deceive me. Arzel: It doesn't like me Canth chuckles. "Well, you obviously aren't its bearer then." Geint: It would have been kinda good if the heroes came to life in it as well to help us. =b hehehe Arzel: Would you happen to know the bearor's name? Geint: Chaos!!! Arzel has been caring around the Pendant of Chaos?? Ayeye: Chaos, great, just what we need. Kadan squints at the beast quizzically, not sure what to think about it. Arzel: Or where he/she might be... Earendil: Chaos, oh joy Valina: Chaos.. hope .. What else is there? Arzel: Order... Arzel: Maybe Geint: It HAD to be chaos.........That's the pendant we keep..... Kadan smirks. "Yes, bunny. I found that wretched thing in Mertyl. It's what... summoned those beasts at me." Kadan glares at Arzel and Tarrant. "And I wonder who was controlling it?" Canth shakes his head. "I don't know the names of the Pendant Bearers, only that they have been chosen by Althena." Ayeye: Oh yeah, Geint said you would tell us more about the air bunnies! Arzel glares at Kadan. Par: The three pendants are of hope, chaos, and fortitude. Liana's documents told us that. Geint: Geez....Why couldn't we have the pendant of luck or something. ;) we sure could use it.. Earendil: Oh yes Geint, time to tell your secrets. Geint: Well......I....... Geint: I'm not an Air-Bunny, but I've insisted that before and no body belived me.... Arzel: Umm, anyone know of a way to get that damn pendant back in the bag...I'm not touching it again. Kadan rubs his chin. "It would appear that the Serpent Staff is not a threat as long as we can keep one of these pendants out of Kargeth's hands." Kadan glares at Arzel and Tarrant again. "Unless that's where they are now." Geint: Maybe someone in the party is the bearer. Canth gestures for Geint to come closer to him. Geint: Ehe....who wants to touch it. Geint looks at Canth. Arzel: Whoever can touch it without getting electrocuted is probobly the bearer. Geint flaps over to him. Earendil: Use a wooden staff. Canth: I'll take care of it. Ayeye looks at the pendant, "Or keep both of the pendants out of their hands." Canth leviates the pendant back into Arzel's pouch. Valina: I don't think it belongs to me! but since I do have one, somewhere, I'll try. Valina: oh OK! GMRune: The blue dragon begins whispering to Geint. --> Geint Canth: The times of Althena grow weak of late. Have you discovered any likely candidates for Dragonmaster? Arzel: I'm not pulling that out again...that hurt. Canth looks rather anxious as he speaks to Geint. Geint noddles to Canth. Ayeye: Maybe we could give the Chaos pendant to the warlocks, that way they'll have to deal with it. Arzel: Ayeye, are you feeling okay? Valina: I wonder which pendant I was fated to have... hope or order.. Kadan grimaces. "That is not wise, Ayeye. They could use it to help awaken the Serpent Staff." Arzel: If we give it to them then they'll have another Earendil: We can't let the warlocks have it under any circumstances, even if it does cause us a deal of trouble. --> Geint Canth: Is he or she peraps one of these people with you? Tarrant: Giving it to them is the easy way out Ayeye: I just don't want to have to fight artwork and monsters anymore. Kadan: Kadan raises a brow. "Just what were you doing in Shelladon anyway, Ayeye?" *Geint* Geint: Earendil over there....he's even got a goddess-type babe with him...who I'm trying to set him up with. ;) Ayeye: (sarcastically) I was getting ready to infiltrate the rebellion so the warlocks could bring it down from the inside. --> Geint Canth: I see... Well, do you remember that object Gausuton dropped after the battle? It's the Dragon Ring. Fly over there and bring it back to me. Okay? Then I'll present it to your friend. Ayeye: What do you expect? Kadan does not detect the sarcasm and give Ayeye a very ugly look. Geint is still whispering with Canth...How impolite! ;D Geint: Oh cool!! It is? Great! Canth nods in the direction of when Gausuton hit the wall. Geint: Hey Ear! Earendil: Yes? Canth: Not yet, little one! Canth: Bring it back to me first. Canth: We have to be a little cermonious about this, after all. Geint grabs the ring that Gausuton dropped. Geint gives it to Canth. Canth nods thankfully at Geint. Canth: And now, I have a great duty to bestow upon one of you. Kadan looks into Ayeye's eyes earnestly. "Please, listen to me. If Kargeth... and possibly Arzel and Tarrant here, are allowed to awaken the staff that I am currently hunting, this world will be flooded with a magical force, foul beyond words. Please... say you'll help me with this." Canth: As you know, in times of need, Lunar much call upon a hero approved by the four dragons to lead the fight ainst evil. Geint sits smuggly. Canth: Thanks to Geint, who has been searching the land for just that person, the first step to receiving a new Dragonmaster can be taken. Geint: Heh heh...Canth..... Ayeye looks back at Kadan, "Of course I'll help you. Someone must stop the evil, and you are a better choice than most." Canth: Earendil, please step forth, and accept my Dragon Ring. Geint: As far as they know I'm an air bunny. ;) Earendil: WHAT?!? Geint cheers. "Go on Earendil!! ;)" Tarrant's jaw drops. Kadan nods, as if that's the thing he desperately needed to hear. He claps Ayeye on the shoulder, accidentally a little too strongly, and smiles. Valina: Earendil... a dragonmaster Earendil: I . . . I can't accept it . . . my mother . . . Ayeye stumbles from the blow, but recovers quickly. Rein smiles at Earendil, eyes wide. Canth nods gently in Earendil's direction. Geint: Huh? Well, your still cool no matter what!! I know you aren't one of them!! Canth: It doesn't matter what your parentage is. Your mother was a citizen of Lunar like any other. Our world can't ask for anything more than your help. Earendil looks at the group, with uncertainty in his eyes. Arzel: Go on Earendil...you deserve it. :) Rein gazes back with admiration. Kadan decides to turn his attentions to Earendil. He stands tall, "Earendil, you do have a wicked ancestry. Your very presence is tainted with the evil fabric of magic. The only hope for you now is to turn your back on it, and try to make some good of your life. The Mage Knights of the rebellion can be strong again, and I believe you're the person to lead them." Geint: Yea! You aren't evil...I stayed with you all long enough to see that. Earendil gazes up the dragon, "I will accept the responsibilty, . . . for Lunar." Canth: I am honored that you would be willing to do so. GMRune: The blue dragon opens his palm and a silver ring shaped like a coiled dragon floats over to Earendil. Earendil: But where do I begin, I can only remember stories my mother told me about the Dragonmaster. Earendil takes the ring, and puts it on. Canth: To be Dragonmaster you must receive the approval of all four dragons. And you must be mature and experienced enough to use our armor. GMRune: The ring glows brightly for an instant and then fades. Kadan is the master of running away! Canth: You are not yet ready to receive our armor, but you will be in time. Tarrant: Ya there's something to be proud of... Leaving us with those statues... Canth: For now you must practice, and make yourself a stronger and more skilled opponent. Geint: Yea, but you're doing pretty well considering!! Already the approval of 2 dragons!! Earendil: Two? Canth: And then when you are ready, you will know when you are ready to return here to claim a part of your armor. Kadan: The beast is right, Earendil. Focus on your fighting prowess and martial skills. Magic has nothing to offer you now. Geint just realized what she said. "WHOOPS!" Ayeye: Two? We have only met one dragon, I think... Valina: humm... Earendil: Wait a minute, two? Par looks at the fuzzy air bunny. Geint: No...A dragonmaster has to use magic, too. An all around cool person. ;) Geint: Well...um... Geint: Canth...Help? ;) Valina looks. Canth: It's up to you what you want to tell them, Geint. Geint: They won't belive me....I know it......I'm a........ Geint: I'm a..... Valina: Yea? Geint mumbles: "a red dragon." Par: ........ Valina: ..huh? Geint: err... I mean.....THE red dragon. *cough* *cough* Earendil's jaw drops, "Huh?!" Tarrant: Your a bed ragin? what speak up! Ayeye is skeptical. "You look nothing like a dragon. Maybe the bush is a green dragon then!" Geint looks to the ground. Arzel: Ya, I couldn't hear you back here. The bush pants happily and does its best impression of flight. Geint: I would have told you before but you wouldn't have belived me.... GMRune: It crashes on the ground outside of Ayeye's backpack. Rein looks a little dazed. His revelation meter is at max! Ayeye examines the bush, "Well, I guess it would need wings, but, other than that..." Tarrant: Nice try bush. Kadan examines the bush, trying to discover what Ayeye thinks is so cute about it. Ayeye picks the bush up again. Earendil: Ok, I have to become the next Dragonmaster, Geint is the red dragon, so what's next, a vengeful elf tries to take over the world? Canth: Anyway, I believe you should get the gem to your friend Valina's pendant. It's located in an abandoned keep east of here. Par: I don't think we elves get that vengeful... Valina: Hummm... but I have a feeling it isn't going to be that easy to get... Canth: I hid it there not long after I removed it from the pendant. Ayeye: Are then any paintings in the keep? What about statues? Rein: But with a Dragonmaster, we should be able to take anything! Earendil: this trip has shown that nothing is easy Canth chuckles. "No paintings I know of. Statues? Maybe. It's been several centuries you know. Even a dragon forgets with time. Geint: Don't forget a dragon backing you up! Rein: Yeah.. that'll help too :) Geint: Yea...no telling.... Par: Somehow I thought a red dragon would be bigger... Ayeye: Great, more stone monsters, this just keeps getting better. Canth: Actually, I'm not worried about stone monsters in the keep. Geint: I am.........in full form! Geint: Right now I'm in my miniature form! Earendil: Canth, then what? Canth: You see, in recent years I've heard the keep has been overrun with monsters of the most unpleasant kind. Ayeye: You don't have to fight them, and anyway, you're a dragon. Geint: Oh dear......how bad.... Earendil: ..... .... Rein: Geint, why didn't you tell us before? Canth: These rats have made it there lair and are disturbing a village that's not too far from it. Valina: That bad huh? Geint: I wanna fight!! I came on this trip not only to find the Dragonmaster....but I was bored to heck! Tell 'em Canth! He was the one that suggested I do something. Earendil: I dislike rats immensely. Geint: Rats aren't too bad of a problem..... Canth: If you head east after crossing the river, you should run into the village of Bannon. And then the keep is not much farther from that. Kadan doesn't look too happy. "And... just why are we going rat-hunting in this keep?" Par: To get the gem belonging to Valina's pendant before the warlocks do. Tarrant: Well, let's get the head start and leave right away. Par nods and starts to leave the lair. Kadan: Hmm... I suppose that's good enough. I don't see why we don't just smash the pendant beneath our heels right now and remove all hope of awakening the staff. Earendil: Yes, time is of the essence. I have to improve my skills, (whispering) and find Elanor. Ayeye: Kadan, that's a good idea. Why do people leave such dangerous things just lying around? Valina: Well, we better get going, rats or no rats! Kadan nods. "Yeah! Valina, gimme that thing." GMRune: The party exits the dragon's lair and Canth silently waves good-bye. Earendil looks up at the dragon one more time, then leaves. Tarrant: I think that will release the chaos Kadan... That's a bad thing.. GMRune: You all procede back through the cave. GMRune: You pass by the mural, and you see the stone beast shapes are once again back in the paintng but they do not animate this time. Rein waves broadly to the dragon. Ayeye: Well, it's leaky anyway, just crush it away from art. Tarrant glares at the murals, waiting for a lion to jump them again. Rein looks from the drawing of Althena to Valina. Valina: What... oh? Earendil passes by the mural without noticing it, and seems to be in deep thought. Rein looks down and puts a hand behind his head. GMRune: And finally with Geint's guidence the party returns to the surface. GMRune: You see the river's height and speed has died down since you last saw it. GMRune: You should have far less trouble crossing this time. Tarrant is relieved to get out of the stagnant air and back to the surface Earendil turns over to Geint, "From all the people on Lunar, why me?" Rein shades his eyes against the bright noonday sun GMRune: The party crosses the river and heads east. GMRune: Rein has a bit of trouble crossing the river and gets swept off the fjord and into the deeper water! GMRune: Although he is uninjured, he is now thoroughly soaked. Arzel: Awww...poor Rein. Geint can't help but giggle. "hee hee hee..." Par: Must have been one of those freak currents. Arzel: I'll dry you off :) Rein: I meant to do that! Valina laffs! Earendil: Falling in the water is not funny. Kadan: Water never hurt anyone. Arzel: Ya, you would know Earendil. Ayeye: Rein, stop playing in the water, we have more important things to do. Earendil: I still have some of the bruises from last time. Rein nods. Geint: So....Kadan...and everyone else, too!!! Geint: Are we over the air-bunny thing????? GMRune: The party gets through the water and heads east across the plains. Geint: PLEASE tell me we are!! Par: I actually think it's pretty cute. Let's keep using it. Par grins. Valina: What do you mean, you cute little bunny! Arzel: What did you say little Air-bunny? Geint snarls. Kadan tickles Geint under the chin. "What do you mean? You're an air bunny, of course." Rein: Geint, you may be an air bunny, but you're OUR air bunny! Geint: STOP IT!!!!! Ayeye: Isn't that cute, the air bunny wants to be a real, grown up, dragon. :) Valina laffs at the joke she made! Tarrant: Personally.. Maybe you're the runt of the liter... Arzel: How cute. Geint: Hey! I'm old enough to be your mammas! Rein raises an eyebrow at Valina's joke Earendil: We should still use air bunny, just in case some warlocks over hear us. We don't want them know about the red dragon. The bush makes a dry ruffling sound in amusement. Geint: ........weell..... Geint: Just call me geint!! Rein: Geint the air bunny? Earendil: Not that a flying thing shaped like a bunny is out of the ordinary anyway. GMRune: A day passes during your travels. GMRune: And on the horizen you see sleepy farming village with plenty of wheat fields and fruit orchads. Geint: Oo! look! Geint: Is that Bannon? GMRune: The village isn't too big, consisting of less then fifteen buildings total, but it certainly has more than enough food to go around. Geint: mmmmmmmm!! smell that! Geint: This is my kinda town! The bush looks eagerly at the fruit trees. Kadan looks at an orange tree curiously. GMRune: It starts panting. Geint: I'll get some for ya, Emmy! Earendil: Dare I go to another pear tree? I can remember what happened last time. Ayeye looks at the bush, "I hope they have a lot of extra food." GMRune: The party enters town. Geint grabs a fruit. Geint tosses it at Emmy. "here ya go!" GMRune: Geint's petty theft goes unnoticed. ;) The bush snaps it up and swallows it whole. Par: It looks like you're getting along with the bush a lot better now, Geint. Tarrant: What a nice red dragon... Stealing from a poor village Valina: Whoa! I guess that thing does eat! Ayeye looks worried, "I hope you didn't poison that." GMRune: Inside the town you see a local tavern, an armory, and an item shop. Earendil: ..... .... Par: Well, anyone up to shopping? Valina: Yea... Earendil: Yes, a new sword would be nice. GMRune: The tavern doubles as an inn by the way... Valina heads toward the armor shop. Earendil: And some armor... Geint: Do I get any armor......no body sells armor in my size! Kadan would like to shop. Geint: It's PREDUDICE!!! GMRune: The party enters the armor shop. GMRune: A clerk greets you inside, munching on a large carrot stick. Kadan: Carrots improve eyesight! Clerk: *munch* *munch* Hi! What can I do for you? *munch* Earendil: What do you have in the way of swords? Valina: Well, what do you have? Tarrant: Isn't this an armor shop Earendil? Kadan walks right up to the wares and examines them as if he owned them. Valina looks around, for anyhing that she could equip. Clerk: Swords? Sorry we here have nothing to do with swords. We're pacifists here. All vegetarians too. Tarrant: Sheeeshh.. some Dragonmaster. Arzel looks around. Clerk: *munch* *snap* *crunch* Rein grabs a staff off the wall and hefts it in one hand, his old staff in the other. Valina: Any armor? Earendil: Ok, what about armor? GMRune: Battle Axe +15 AP 15 S GMRune: Oaken Staff + 9 AP Wis +2 11 S GMRune: Leg Wrap + 4 DP 12 S GMRune: Thick Fur + 8 DP 24 S GMRune: Circlet + 3 DP Wis +2 10 S GMRune: Bandanna + 4 DP 8 S GMRune: Leather Helm + 5 DP 10 S Rein: What's with the battle axe? Rein: Is it the fabled battle axe of friendship? Clerk: We use it for cutting down trees! Rein: Ahhh... Kadan picks up the heavy axe as a sick grin covers his face. "How much?!" Clerk: That'll be 15 silver. Ayeye: Hey! That's not nice, trees have feelings also! Kadan grips the shaft with both fists and glares at the group menacingly, foam coming from his teeth. "Mind if I buy this?! Hee hee hee..." Ayeye slaps Kadan, "Snap out of it." Rein swallows heavily. Earendil: Well, I'm glad he won't be the Dragonmaster. Tarrant: Ya go ahead lumberjack Kadan. Arzel: I'll be sleeping with my eyes open for a little while Earendil: I'll take a bandanna. GMRune: Earendil gets a bandanna. Valina asks the cleark for a forest-green circlet... Kadan tries to fit the squeaky leather helmet around his head. "25 silver isn't too much for such a useful comrade, is it?" Arzel: I'll take a bandanna too. GMRune: Arzel gets a bandanna. Kadan buys a Battle Axe and Leather Helm. Arzel: Oh go ahead kadan GMRune: Kadan gets a Battle Axe and Leather Helm. Kadan makes a few mock attack maneuvers with his new equipment, satisfied with the swooshing sounds. Valina: Ahhh... boys and their toys... Tarrant tries to copy Kadan moves and falls on his back Kadan looks at his rusty old jagged hand axe. "Well, you've been a good friend, but it's time to move on. How much for this, my good man?" Clerk: Anyone else? Geint: Me! Clerk: Oh wait... I forgot the young lady's... GMRune: Valina gets a circlet. Rein finds that the new staff makes much louder wooshing sounds than his old one. He sighs and looks wistfully at his old staff Valina: Thanks! Geint: How much was the thick fur? =b Kadan looks at his new axe and helmet. "Well, I guess I can sell my old hand axe and my old... hmm..." Kadan rips off his head and tries to sell it. Valina chearfully puts the circet on! Clerk: Thick fur is 24 silver. Geint: Um...Ok. I'd like to buy it...anyone object? >=) Valina: go ahead! GMRune: Geint gets Thick Fur! =) Clerk: Anyone else? Ayeye: I'd like a bandanna. GMRune: Ayeye gets a bandanna. Rein sighs and approaches the counter. Rein: I'll take this oaken staff, please. GMRune: Rein gets an oaken staff. Rein: And do you have a blue bandanna? Geint: Oooo!!! Can I get a leg band!? Clerk: Certainly! GMRune: Geint gets leg wraps. Rein ties the bandanna around his neck. It matches his belt. GMRune: Tarrant gets a Circlet. Rein takes both the old and new staves, and slings them over his back Earendil: What about items? Clerk: Try the next shop over. Clerk: I believe you'll find some there. Kadan checks his satchel. "Yes. Is there a pharmacy or apothecary in this vicinity?" Clerk: Well, there are some herbs and starlights availible in the item shop next door. Clerk: They're right there next to our trademark acorns! Earendil heads out the door to the next shop. GMRune: The party heads out of the armory and into the item shop. GMRune: In the item shop you see lots of useless looking objects heaped together. Tarrant checks his robe and sees he has enough items Earendil: This shop is. . .quaint. Ayeye starts looking through the useless items. GMRune: You manage to find herbs and starlights amid the mess. But what have got to be the most unusual objects in the vicinity are a set of giant acorns as big as Geint! Geint: Yikes! Earendil picks up an acorn. "What are these for?" Geint: The acorns are as big as me!! Look! Rein finds a rubber snake. Ayeye: Wow! Guys, check out these acorns! GMRune: The shopkeeper hurries out when you enter the shop. Rein: Cool! Tarrant: I wonder what magnificent tree produces those acorns GMRune: She smiles brightly, and her face is flushed. Geint: If we take any Kadan will have to carry them... ;) Shopkeeper: Hi! What can I do for you? Earendil look in the rubbage and finds a box that says Phantasy Star. Kadan: How much are medicinal herbs, sir? GMRune: Shopkeeper: SIR?! Geint: I need a starlight! Rein throws the snake at Val :) Tarrant: Kadan your a wonder with the women.. Ayeye: Kadan, maybe you should have some of these carrots. Arzel: I think Kadan needs to go lie down Earendil: Kadan, you've been out in the sun too long. Kadan glares over his shoulder defensively. "They call females in Starfleet sir!" Shopkeeper: The herbs are 5 silver a piece, starlights 10, and giant acorns 30. Ayeye: Starfleet? What is this "Starfleet"? Valina: argh!! Kadan swings his axe around and states matter-of- factly. "I am taking two herbs." Earendil: Whenever someone says starfleet, I get this strange picture of a bald man in my head. Rein: Hehe... GMRune: Kadan acquires two herbs. Arzel: Starfleet! Valina looks... Shopkeeper: Do any of you think you would like a giant acorn? They really are quite handy! Geint: What the hell do those acorns do??? Valina: Zork? What's that? Arzel: I need a herb...okay? Earendil goes up to the shopkeeper, I'd like an herb and a starlight please. Valina: ...Humm GMRune: Earendil gets an herb and a starlight. Tarrant: What do they do? Ayeye: How much? Shopkeeper: Our magic acorns are guarenteed to make you smart just by holding them! Kadan tucks his herbs away and eyes everyone suspiciously. Valina: No acorn, but a herb and starlight could come in handy! Geint: Well....I dunno if I could carry one! GMRune: Arzel gets an herb. Valina contunes looking through the junk... Tarrant: Kadan needs an Acorn I think. Kadan: Er...? Earendil: How much is an acorn anyway? Geint: Did I get a starlight? Valina notices a blue box, with the words "Working Designs" and "The Silver Star"... but she thinks nothing of it! Rein: He's the only one that could carry them anyway! Shopkeeper: A gaint acorn is 30 S. :) Earendil: Valina funny, there's one called Eternal Blue over here Valina: Gee, I wonder what they are? Arzel: Hey, and look somthing called a Sega CD. Valina: Huh? Geint: Sea dee? Geint: A Sega sea dee?? What is that? GMRune: Valina gets an herb and starlight. Rein: Hmm... a 32x... I don't know about this one..... Geint: Thurdytooexx....weird names.... Shopkeeper: Anyone else? Anyone want an acorn? Valina looks at the blue box in her hand... The shopkeeper shows a smaller one to the party. Tarrant: Your acorns are overpriced Miss. Valina: Who is that wierdo with the ice cream cones in his head? Shopkeeper: Maybe this will better suited to your needs. Geint: I could carry that! Is it any cheaper? Ayeye: That's a hat, not his head. Valina: What a weirdo! Earendil: Hey Geint, there's an air bunny on this box the same color as you Shopkeeper: Well, maybe I'll lower the price down to 25 silver, but not a bit more! Shopkeeper: These acorns have good powers! Ayeye: I don't know, he might look better without the silly hat. Valina: Cool, let me see! Geint: But I'm not an air bunny! Maybe it's another dra- ----err *seeing the shop keeper's face* Tarrant: Earendil, put that stuff down. It corrupts the minds of the young... Valina turns the box around. Geint: Draaaawwing of something like what I am! Valina: Alex, Luna, Ramus, Nall... hmmmm... Kadan is by himself in the corner, being quiet. Geint: I'll buy one! Earendil: It's like the box is calling me to it, its hard to resist. Valina: 18135 Clear Creek road? Geint: if----the party lets me. ;) GMRune: Geint gets a semi-giant acorn. Ayeye: Sure, I can't keep it on me, The Bush would eat it. Tarrant: Let's go guys.. pretty soon she will bring out smaller acorns... Rein: How are you going to carry that, Geint? Valina puts the strange box down. Geint: It's small enough! GMRune: Kadan sells his hand axe for 4 silver. Earendil puts the blue box away, "Must resist, must leave it. . . " GMRune: The party exits the item shop. Par: Shall we head out? Or is there anything you'd like to do in town? Earendil: A night of sleep maybe? Tarrant: Nothing I can think of.. Valina ~yawn~ "Let's hit the tavern..." Ayeye: It's been two days of travel, sleep would be nice. Rein frowns. Par nods and leads the party to the tavern. Rein: Not another tavern.... Kadan stretches and grunts. Rein: Oh man.. I hope they let me in... GMRune: The party enters. Valina: Don't worry Rein, I'm under age too. GMRune: You see there's a desk off to one side where rooms are rented out. Kadan chuckles. "Hehe. Don't worry, kid. I'll tell them you're my nephew or something." Rein: Ok... Rein looks up at Kadan. Rein: Thanks! Ayeye: Umm, I don't think there is an age limit, is there? Valina: Plus I look younger than what I am! It is sad! Geint: Do you have a bed my size or do I have to sleep on Earendil or Valina's bed? Geint: Hey!! I'm 40!!! Valina: ok Geint, you win! Valina: You look 3! Geint: Hey!! How could I speak so elequantly at 3? ;) Valina laffs. Ayeye: I think your speech is a good answer for that question. :) Earendil: Eloquent is not the word for it. Tavernkeep: Hello there. What can I do for you? Geint scowls. Kadan smiles at Ayeye. Valina: Umm... we would like to stay the night... Kadan slaps his gloved hand on the counter. "A comfortable room and a big jug of water, my friend!" Tavernkeep: Hmmm... GMRune: He looks at the group. Earendil: Water, hah. Your best wine please. Ayeye: Well, maybe not comfortable, we are running a bit short on silver. Tavernkeep: Well, that'll be 18 silver! Tavernkeep: And a silver more for the wine! Ayeye: For each of us? Kadan: Yick... Wine is just poisoned water. It taints the mind with its stagnation and venom. Tavernkeep: No, for the group. Earendil: I like being stagnated every so often. Rein nods at Kadan. Arzel: For once I agree with Kadan Ayeye: Oh, good, we can afford that. Rein: My master Mendren always said that wine was a veil before ones eyes, obscuring the light of Althena Tavernkeep: So, would you be staying the night? Kadan: That's nonsense, Rein. Wine is just rotten poison. There's nothing unholy about it. Valina is just going to sleep. Geint: I've never had a chance to drink any alcohol... What does it taste like? The tavernkeeper waits impatiently for your answer. Tarrant: Are we going to stay or not.. ? Rein: Well, that's what he used to say. Earendil: Yes, but it's one hell of a poison. Earendil: Yes, were staying. Geint: We're staying, guy. GMRune: The tavernkeeper now gives you the keys to your room. Tarrant: Geint you only need a little for your weight. GMRune: The party heads up to their room. GMRune: Your sleep is restful and uneventful. :) GMRune: Everyone regains all HP and MP for some miraculous reason. Kadan looks for the largest bed to spread out on. Kadan looks around suspiciously, waits for everyone to fall asleep, then removes his stuffed dog toy from his backpack. Tarrant wakes up feeling like a new man. Valina awakens... refreshed! GMRune: In the morning, everyone wakes up and gets ready to head out. Kadan feels like he could wrestle a bear right now! GMRune: The party heads downstairs and checks out. Ayeye still hopes there are no statues in the keep. Rein imagines that Kadan probably COULD wrestle a bear Ayeye imagines that the bear would run from Kadan. GMRune: The party leaves town, enjoying the morning air as they approach the abandoned keep. Rein feels like he could wrestle a large cat, or perhaps even a small dog :) Valina: I don't like the look of this place! Earendil: It is the calm before the storm. Arzel: It's not a very nice looking place. Geint: Weird....somehow I doubt it's as abandoned as it looks.... Rein whistles a bit off-key, enjoying the morning air GMRune: As the old rundown structure emerges into view, you can see that it's badly in need of repair. The bricks are cracked and split. And the stone is covered in moldly vegetation. You get the feeling that several pairs of eyes are watching you. Kadan examines the structure. "I suspect this was rather a formidable little fortress in its day." Rein: I wonder what made people abandon it? Earendil: It's better that we don't know. Valina: I don't know Rein, but I think we are going to find out! GMRune: You all hear a chittering sound just pass the rotted doorframes. Tarrant starts to swing his cane in nervous motions. Ayeye frowns, "We will know soon enough." GMRune: The chitter increases and the doors move a little bit as if something accidently hit it. Geint: Pteh... Canth wasn't kidding! GMRune: Suddenly the doors to the keep burst open and several squat little rat-like humanoids stagger out towards you! Kadan: G'ah! Valina: Oh no! GMRune: The ratmen chitter at the group and point their spears at you. Kadan: Stand your ground! Earendil: Egads! Tarrant: Ahh Rats GMRune: -----------COMBAT!------ Geint: So they're rat men......I'm not afraid of rat men. GMRune: ----------round 1------ Rein swings his staff up smoothly. GMRune: Rein stays in the back and makes some rude gestures at the ratlings. Geint: If they breath on Kadan....... Rein: After those wyburns, these guys are nothin'! Valina: It wouldn't affect him! GMRune: Earensil casts Wide Slash and strikes his sword through the front row of ratlings. Rein: Behhhhhh! GMRune: 20 damage to each! GMRune: Arzel casts a bolt of flame at ratling #4. GMRune: 19 damage! Kadan glares at the Air Bunny. GMRune: Par casts a large slab of ice at Ratling #2! GMRune: 28 damage! Tarrant: Par you're cool.
